Just bought an FZR, the temperature gague doesn't work. I think it goes up to the "warm up" mark but no more. Any ideas what this is and how it can be fixed?

No I mean, the tiny mark down low that means the bike is now warm. It would mean even after riding it for 30mins it's still very cold ;-)

Even leaving it sitting there idling for an extended period of time doesn't cause it to go up?

I can't remember what would need to be replaced in the gauge cluster for the temperature gauge to work, but if you pull out the instrument cluster then you'll soon discover if you can replace just that gauge. On the other end of the stick, could be the temperature probe is buggered.

Perhaps knit it a nice warm wooly jumper? ;)

    TEMP GAUGE

CHECK OUT THE WIRING CONNECTIONS ON THE THERMOSTAT ANY LOOSE WIRING SENDS THE GAUGE HAYWIRE.

I suggest buying a digital temp. gauge. Daytona makes one. They usually run about $100 USD here in California.

I will be getting one to find out why my gauge keeps pegging the red zone. I noticed that my gauge indicator increases immediately upon turning on the headlights.

I know FZR's, this one does get hot. The guage or thermo is definitely buggered.

i have the same problem with mines but some times it works and then just stays there at the warm mark and wont move the important thing is to leave the bike to idle for a while anbd see if the fan kicks in then you know at least it wont over heat
