I went out for a little ride today along one of my not so favorate roads ( It has tried to kill me a couple of times already) so a slow trip along it was in order to get the hang of it and double demerits made going slow easier to handle.
Traveled about 60km from home when I hit a large pothole well I had a choice of which one to hit but not a chance of missing them all.
Shortly after lost power to the motor hit the fuel reserve just in case but still no power. Coasted up to a drive way and pulled off in the shade of the tree to start fault finding. Unable to get the neutral light on even when in neutral so I could not kick it over. I figured it must be an electrical fault so I started pulling the bike apart and the home owner came down to see if I needed a hand and lent me some extra tools. I carry the basic ones with me but didn't have a plug wrench or multi meter. Checked all the plugs and fuses all knew about all OK shorted the startermotor relay and no spark at the plug so bump starting was out of the question. The home owner was hooking up a trailer to take me and the bike home when I spotted one last plug that I didn't know about. and that was the problem. Put the plug together and she kicked over first time.
So I have decided that I need some roadside assistance just in case. I am sure that I had this good karma of breaking down in-front of this house because I helped out a guy on a Harley about 2 months ago. So guys if you see some one on the side of the road stop and see if you can help you never know when you may need help.
