    Still don't see how it's anything other than a 1990 model. compliance means nothing, it's just a change of country. Doesn't make the bike get any younger.

    Correct ... but people use the newer date to enhance their sale ad ..... or just dont know the difference between build date and compliance date ..... cars dont always match .... usually just by months though

    When I look thru for sale ads , the older the model the better, for me.

    I had a guy trying to tell me his zxr250 A was made in 2004 , he didn't get the whole "complied in Aus date" thing

    I've seen the vfr/rvf come up at pickles auctions at times. Speaking of Pickles, the motorcycle e-salvage ends tomorrow. The repairable write-off system is a painful expense, particularly is it is superficial stuff like a broken indicator lens (that's all the showed for an 09 Ninja 250). $350 for someone to decide it isn't stolen, they don't even check repair quality, that's the road worthy inspectors job.

    "Awesome bike for a learner wanting to get into super sport class of motorcycles.

    Needs new spark plugs (i think), just had the coils replaced. Headlights work, but have a tendency to flick on and off (i think its a problem with the relay). Would suit someone who knows how to work on bikes, or is mechanically minded. Feul tank has dint in it (was dropped while stationary). Mirrors on upside down with threaded bolts.

    Registered till October, but does not come with roadworthy certificate. I can sell with or without plates, depending on if buyer will fix and get roadworthy for it in a reasonably short amount of time.

    Could also be used for parts, but i think a days work would have it up and running beautifully again. Will still start and is ridable, but starts misfiring at about 5000rpm or so.

    That sounds like 1000$ worth of worth every peny.
    The flicker is because of the left hand switch block button
    mirrors on upside down and threaded is embarrassing for whoever did that...
    misfiring after 5000rpm sounds electrical, good chance its weak spark.
    If I was in that location id buy it in a heart beat.

    Haha we need a QLD to NSW conversion rate calculator. And then on top of that we need a Kiffsta to Everyone else conversion rate calculator. Id be over the moon if that bike was here in Syd.

    Yeh I think every bike I've "cleaned up" with fluids and basic servicing bits has set me back $250-$500 and that doesn't include any rego/roadworthy costs. Ads up, and if you're in it to flip the bike and make some coin margins aren't massive... Keep it perhaps a different story (then it drains your wallet for years to come!)
