Has anyone used tyre down straps to secure their bikes ? When I was at QR on the weekend I saw loads of people using front wheel chocks and tyre down's to secure their rear tyre , I had a chat with one guy and he said it doesn't mess with his fork seals or wreck his grips using standard straps

i know a few guys that have them but they use them along with front tie downs as well as wheel chocks and thats mainly for longer drives from down south up here and vise versa.

I use the front wheel chock ($60 (on sale) from SCA) and handle bar tiedowns and 99% of the guys and girls transporting bikes both for track days and race days use just the chocks and handle bar tie dows and i never hear any issues with regards to fork seals.

However i do use a seal saver for my dirt bikes on tie down but that is to save me the effort of compressing 3 times the fork lenght of that of a road bike and normally the bikes are filthy and full of sand and that can stuff the seals :)
