Yesterday I went on a variety of pre-christmas errands. These included getting steering head bearings for my bike (my holiday repair), picking up a pair of jeans from the tailors for my fiance, and also getting a nice bottle of scotch. Well I did all that yesterday on my bike.

This morning I woke, went out and expected to go for a little ride this morning. Rolled my bike out, and I just happened to spy a metal object protruding from my (near new 1 month old) rear tire. It was the metal object that goes over bull clips, and it was in my tire. I hoped it wasn't through, but I pulled it out and was greeted to a hissing noise.

Called around - bike shops closed. Could fix it myself, but I don't trust my tire fixes as much as a shop, and since it was a new tire I wanted it done properly. Called a car tire repair place. They said they could fix it as long as the tire was off my bike. So I took my tire off (a huge pain when I don't have a centre stand of any sort), brought the tire to get repaired.

$20 later I have a near perfect tire. I have been told that this can cause some imbalance when the tire starts to wear, but I should get 10 000 km's out of it as it currently is.

Frustrating morning. But all better now. Thought I would share, just because I can. And also to let you know that car tire repair places can fix motorbike tires...

Quite small - 50 or so people. And not R1's - using a 1960 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud and a 1947 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith. No r1's, and not through lack of trying (I honestly did ask - more of a joke than anything, but I asked none-the less). Actually- I would love to have a v-max carry me (or let me ride) to the wedding.

    (see #'s 32 and 33 though on http://forum.yamahaforever.com/viewtopic.php?p=782#782)
