So this is more of a track thing but I think it will also fall in under accessories……fell free to move it if you see fit. So with all the talk of track days and racing I thought I’d start a “Tried and Tested” tyre warmer thread, as it is something all track riders be it track dayer or racer should use. Benefits are simple but give big benefits…… Keeping the one heat cycle in your tyres all day - which means longer life for your tyres. Avoid cold tyre crashes and have better grip and the ability to go fast right from the get go with warm tyres. Allow you set the right hot tyre pressures from the pits which in turn means your grip and handling will remain much more consistent So for me I am a bit budget conscious as I am currently saving for a house, so playing with my toys needs to be done on a strict budget. However even though I am on a budget I am still waiting the best quality for my money as I don’t want to buy shite and have to replace it within a few months. These tyre warmers came recommended to me by a mate who is running them on his R6 for well over 2 years and they have yet to let him down and so far with me, they have done as well as the bigger named brands. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/16062236...NX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_3384wt_906
good call, quite a few riders were using them at QR yesterday, what I found funny was that there are no power points in the pits so everyone was using portable generators to run their tyre warmers...
Wow of all places i would have thought QR would have power for the pits. very odd. you'll find in perth and collie there extention leads everywhere but the tracks supply the power sorry mate the name doesnt ring bells? does he race in wa? or is he irish? ah awesome saves you having to buy the,. they really are a worthwhile investment especally if you learn the different settings and how to apply them to the track tempature and your riding style and all that jazz. (im a long way a way from that lol )
Scotsman not Irish! He is an absolute track day nut. He runs a CBR1000 out at Barbagello all the time. Drives across country regularly to ride at Eastern Creek, Phillip Island etc. Has a few dirt bikes he races as well including a KTM450 supercrosser. I work with him up here in PNG. Thought you may have run into him in your travels.
Ah a scotsman.......jeeeezzzz thats worse us ex pats are alover the place in Barbs haha, i really think we outnumber the aussies i must keep an eye out for him, i dont think i have ever met him but i may have seen him on the track. any pictures of his cbr?
any one got any more tired and tested to add to the mix? @kiffsta maybe we could clean this thread up and have it as a sticky for tried and tested warmrs?
