I have been led to beleive that the yamaha zeal (fzx250) uses the same engine but is detuned (less HP, more torque). Would those gaskets etc. work?

If desperate (and needing to find a part in australia) try out www.findapart.com.au - enter in the details and the user will receive e-mail feedback regarding cost (if they can source it).

I didnt think the zeal got sold out side of Australia? may be wrong about this. If it got sold in USA the seppos have a yamaha genuine parts catalog online for bikes sold in America. I think the link was off the US yamaha site.

I just knew that there are manuals available for teh zeal (unlike the fzr250) so I assumed part numbers would be easier to identify.

If you are after engine gaskets, Metro Yamaha located in Brisbane, Australia has them in stock. There are about $50 for the pair. I'm sure that they will ship internationally for you.
