I am after a set of downpipes for a 3LN5 FZR250 as mine are rusting through and I have a hole where #1 downpipe meets the collector box.

Dont really need the exup valve itself as mine works good. If you have a decent or aftermarket muffler then I may be interested in taking that from you also.

I am in South East Essex, UK. About 50km east of London, am willing to travel to get the right part.

Anyone know of a japanese agent that could locate/export part? Had a bit of luck with this before when buying a BNOS fuel tank for a '84 GSX400R

PM me if you have one and/or you are breaking one in the UK. Mine has MOT till end of May - I dont want to have to take it off the road

no chance.
iv been looking for a year or two now.
getting some headers made and welded onto the valve unit is the way to do it.
most places iv been asked about £100/200.
but i think im going to get some pipe and do them myself.
if i do get some done i'll let you know.

Going to go have a look at a set of manifolds and a silencer tommorow. Fingers well and truly crossed

Picked up a Yamaha stock silencer today for £25, just surface rust.

Picked up the manifold aswell. Whereas mine have rusted through in front of the collector box where the four downpipes meet, this one has rusted through around the collar for no3 cyl. About 95% of the way around. Have given them to a local mechanic who says it should be no prob to weld/braze the collar back on. Not bad for £15 plus welding.

Got a set of fairing lowers for £60, in matching colours too. Must be aftermarket I guess as there is glass fibre weave on the insides.

Make sure you treat the exhaust headers and mid pipe with a high heat resistant paint, giving it some inexpensive protection.

That is exactly what I will be doing with them. Once my existing ones are off I shall be getting them welded up aswell. They shall be treated to a good coating and hung up in the shed for possible future use

I am really liking the little fizzie. It really is a bit too small for me but it's a great little bike, feels just right. Though it pains me to say it, I'd rather out my 350YPVS that the little FZR

Now, just imagine the 350 engine in the FZR chassis...

Funny you say that. I bought the FZR250 with a view to putting the wheels, brakes and swingarm onto the 350 to give it 17" wheels and so a half decent choice of rubber. Although my 250 is a bit of a dog, it's still running too good at the moment to break it up. Getting about 95miles/105Kilometres before hitting reserve - is that about right? I am the wrong side of 16 stone lol
