I have only had a half hearted race, i was at the lights next to a VN commodore (SS), i took off and he revved the crap out of his car, started trying to race me, so i thought ok why not and raced him, when i changed into 3rd gear and hit 110kph i looked back and he was about 3 car-lengths behind me so i thought well i won and backed off. obviously he was pissed off because he kept going and went flying past me. hehehe i love how quick my bike accelarates. <!-- s --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s --> it flys. <!-- s:angel: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_angel.gif" alt=":angel:" title="Angel" /><!-- s:angel: -->
I raced my mates honda cbr 250 rr, no one gained on any1 that was good. Raced a few cars, but nothing fast to name.. I m still need to race a turbo car.. but im quite sure we all know the out come right!!? <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt=":lol:" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: -->
Just this morning I was at a set of lights (4 lane road, I was in right lane) and the light turns green. This mercedes 4wd came up the left lane where no one was and tries to get in front of me. He had a rolling start at about 40 k/hr (accelerating quite hard too), but I quickly caught and passed him (it was an 80 k/hr road, and I was at 80 when he was probably at 65 or so). Also recently raced a ducati monster 1000 cc on a freeway onramp - that was a good one. I slowed near the top so I could watch traffic, and that is when SHE got ahead of me (it was even until that point, which it shouldn't have been as my bike has 40hp more with only an extra 8 kg to the mass). She was cute too - followed her for a few k's after that but then came my exit... <!-- s --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s --> (edit - just noticed Ducati they also make a 800 cc monster - could have been that model too. I just know it was bigger than the 600) I like my new bike... On my fzr I mainly ended up racing people in lancers and things - those who thought their car was 'all that' but really not. Just the typical "who can take off from lights fastest" sort of thing. Excepting for the lady on the monster I have never had anyone actually challenge me to a race though - on the fzr or the yzf.
Yeah I havn't raced anyone yet <!-- s --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif" alt="" title="Sad" /><!-- s -->. But at the lights..are you surposed to look in their direction to initiate a drag? Coz I normall just pull up...and keep my head straight..I find looking in their direction is too obvious..and just take off..by the time I look behind me its like they havn't even moved half the time :s.
The amount of races I have had is seriously too many to count. My most memorable one which I told Dean about was with a Cagive Mito (125CC 2 stroke). We dragged quite a few sets of lights. On th first set I ripped him off the mark until I changed into second gear where I changed @ 8000RPM (accidentally) and he got ahead of me only then. Second set of lights the same thing. But on the 3rd set I learnt my lesson and killed him all the way & then he turned into a side street nodding his head in appreciation of the drag race. even thrashed a big 750CC sports bike before (no joke) but that was due to the fact that the guy had sorta **** reflexes. <!-- s --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cool.gif" alt="" title="Cool" /><!-- s --> And who can forget the time when I tried having a drag race with Dean <!-- s:rofl: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":rofl:" title="Rofl" /><!-- s:rofl: --> which we never ended up completing <!-- s:-? --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_Eyecrazy.gif" alt=":-?" title="Eye Crazy" /><!-- s:-? --> .

hey guys, i was forced to race a BMW M5 series? 4wd today, i pulled up next to it at the lights (in between it and a median strip i might add, the push bike lane <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt=":lol:" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: --> ) so the light turns green and i take off pretty quick to get in front and the ***** decides to race me, so he's next to me, and i got a median strip comin towards me, luckily he merged left for me, so i could also move left into the proper lane, he kept on accelerating so i did as well. after i changed from 1st gear to 2nd though he started to get very familiar with my tail lights. <!-- s --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s --> bloody up them selves BMW drivers, thinking they are better than us! <!-- s --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_mad.gif" alt="" title="Mad" /><!-- s --> FZR250 = 1, BMW = 0. <!-- s:rofl: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":rofl:" title="Rofl" /><!-- s:rofl: -->

Hey I was wondering if anyones ever had the opportunity to drag an RGV or Aprilla 250? The 2 strokes are know for their power, and I was just wondering how a fizzer would pull up against em!
Probably would not be a good showing by the fzr... My housemate has a rz250r (1986) and that bike is pretty much equivelant to teh fzr. I can only imagine how the rs250 and rgv's have changed since 1986 - doubtful we would do well. Also given the fact that 250's (like the Aprillia's) are still dominating the 250 circuit...
FZR vs GPX250, FZR even with GPX until 2nd gear change, then the FZR starts pulling away bloody quick, by the end of 3rd, i was about 50m in front. raced him twice, same outcome both times. also raced a new holden astra the other day (non turbo variant) almost stalled the bloody bike at the take off, astra was 2 car lengths in front of me before my bike even reached 8000rpm, so i fanned the clutch, front wheel lifted about 30 cms in the air!!! <!-- s --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s --> <!-- s --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s --> <!-- s --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s --> and by the time i had changed into 2nd i was even, bike just kept accelarating away from there. <!-- s:o --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_surprised.gif" alt=":o" title="Surprised" /><!-- s:o -->
Drags My mate came over in his Twin Turbo Supra thought w'ed have a drag down Dandenong Rd in Melb for those in the know. Needless to say acceleration wise i was a good 50 meters ahead by the time he got off the lights (in True Twin mode he does'nt hit boost until 5000rpm) but after that it was game over. I was pretty happy with myself and still accelerating until he pulled up next to me, waved, and promptly blew me away. Damn sexy to wtch him disapear down the rd. That said gone against a GPX, n CBR250 but did'nt beat the CBR by much. he was a fat **** like me. First modifcation im gonna get is a wegiht reduction kit.
