I know this has been mentioned in a few posts before...but how many of you are successfull in getting the front wheel up? Coz ive only been riding a few weeks its not something I wanna try straight away lol. But im guessing it requires u to dump the clutch in a controlled manner? lol. Some opinions?

I heard some good points in doing it but havent grew the balls yet to try it.. i have gotten the front wheel lightly of the ground when a meredes ran a red light and almost killed me.. in frustration i revved the bike and let the clutch go quickly not knowin my bike started to lift and the steerin start shakinbut it was barley off the ground thats for sure.

Well I've tried it twice. I revved the bike to about 10000-13000RPM & the released the clutch really quickly. Damn the bike flew up and I got a bit freaked, to me it seemed like it was on a 75-80 degree angle. Since then haven't really been attempting it as I am also working on building up the confidence for that. Plus it really hurts the engine, small bikes don't like it too much. On a Yamaha R6 or R1 its a different story, does bikes do want to fly up .

Yeah well I was speaking to this customer that came into work tonight on a fireblade 900. He reckons, (being alot larger bike) u just accelerate fairly hard and the front just comes up.

    I was a lil jelous

i remember trying this on my cbr250rr a couple of years ago. I was sitting still, revved it to the shithouse and dropped the clutch. Front wheel came straight up as the seat came out from under me. So now my bike is taking off down the street with me running behind it holding on to the handlebars. As i fall behind, my right hand pulls the throttle speeding the bike up. I kept this up for a measly 10 meters till i decided "screw it! whats the worst that can happen" As i let go i watched my baby flip into the air, do a backwards summersault and crash into the road upside down. My mate thought it was so funny and laughed his ass off. you would've thought someone was tickling his bunghole with a feather. needless to say, i wont be trying this again in the near future

Wow, im not so game to rev the tits outta my bike to get the front wheel up, although i've always wanted to pop a wheelie .. i just dont think its worth it on a little 250 ... maybe when i get a bigger bike 600+ ... mmmmm

Whilst test riding a whole load of different bikes, i got tossed the keys to a Hyosung Comet 250. Knowing all too well that it was a torquey bike, i was enjoying it off the lights keeping it in its sweet spot as long as possible.

3rd set of lights, gave it about 7k and slipped the clutch a little too quick whilst giving it a whole load of twist, and i felt the bike lunge up; lifitng off the front. Id guess it only went up maybe 4-6 inches but more than enough to scare me.

Ive tried it a little bit but nothing huge...Most of the time I just feel the front become light..but the wheel doesn't lift at all. I think for more bikes u gotta slip the clutch to some degree. Even on like a 955i st triumph, hard acceleration isn't enough to bring the front up coz its designed that way...

I find dumping the clutch on a 250 a bit cruel, and more worried about stuffing something up coz of the strain it puts everything through.

I dumped it once at about 15k...

It lifted front wheel about 6 inches then just bogs the engine and almost stalls, lol.

On another note, I got some phat air today flying up a hill. Think "San Francisco" style.

Guys, learn to ride safely first, the wheelies will come in time.

There is *no* substitute for horsepower, I used to lift the front wheel on both my Gpz900R and my Z1R 1000 with no problem at all. Make sure you have your balance sorted before even trying it, nothing worse than seeing a nice bike with a tosser hitting the deck through lack of control

I was just wondering but...how bad is it for the clutch and sprockets? coz my sprockets aint in the best cond atm
