:(Moto GP racing is great but I have a confession to make, I use to enjoy the 125cc and the 250cc races even more. The young riders on the 125cc machines offered the television audience something very special, 110% in every race. Like young gladiators pushing everything to the limit. The 250cc riders were at times even more daring as the main prize at seasons end was perhaps elevation to moto GP so racing was extreme, take no prisoners and give it all you've got. Probably some of the closest racing ever seen, god they were great.
Alas that era appears gone, next year the 250cc shall return, can't wait

The great racing can be seen on SpeedTV - 2 stroke 500s, isle of Man etc.
250s back in 2012 - yes, but single cylinder 4 strokes.  Why not twins at least or better still 4 cylinder screamers like the CBR250RR and ZXR250C ?????

    Time will tell.

Good point, don't disagree that twins and 4 pots are better than one. However if one looks back to earlier times many bikes from Europe were singles and the racing was great.

Or perhaps it could be the old pattern reappearing, race on Sunday and sell on Monday.
I'm not previs to the thoughts of manufacturers and regulators.

Having ridden the new Honda CBR250R last week, I came away most impressed and wondered with some serious tweeking and performance bits added on what these motorcycles would be capable of. As you rightly put it, time will tell.

the great racing went when the the old screamer engines went and then died another death with  4 strokes and another blow when honda took control by supllying engines to moto 2 bring back the strokers  same will happen with moto 3 next year when that goes 4 stroke
the whole point of gp racing is them to be one off bikes to show what they can do with a motorcycle now they may as well be superbikes you can buy in the showroom  :o
