Hey have any of you guys thought about getting in with a bike store like clipstone etc? Just maybe offering the site as a service/support to their customers who purchase bikes or something initially...

Last time I was in there, I saw about 4 FZR 250's for sale amoungst other things.

Maybe u have already tried this, but I see it as a win/win for both...

    Just an Idea

    Rob.

Good idea! The unfortunate part is that Clipstone is not very local for the two people who are running the show (dean in sydney and james in NZ). But perhaps that could be a good place to source some advertising revenue...

Also - is it just me or have more and more fzr's started to appear? Looking through bike mags there seem to be an increasing number being imported from overseas... (I bring this up because you said clipstone usually has a number of fzr's)

yeah thats a problem. There has got to be something you can do to get the bike shops interested. Esp if they are actually selling for FZRs's
Let me think about it for a bit. ( better than actually doing work )

I have definately seen more FZR's, i'm sure that this is only coz i just bought one though. But it could be that
    a) people are sick of paying top $$$ for a CBR when an FZR is basically the same specs and cheaper.
    b) everyone has a bloody CBR

Lol yeh Cbrs are sooo common.
At this stage we may wish to advertise other companies on the site when the community grows to help fund the paying cost for hosting the site. At this stage we are payin through out hard earned money hehe.. but not to worry since its not much.

    Hey

    Hey guys,

At the moment I have been given permisson to advetise our club site on to major USA bike sites (touch wood) but I have to wait for Dean to produce the advertising banners.

The reason there are more FZRs is because of our site showing people that they are awesome bikes hahahaha j/k.

IF any of you come across people that will advertise for us just give Dean and myself a yell and we'll sort things out. Its a good idea to get into a contract with a bike store but it would be best if that store sold alot of FZRs or yammies because it would be worth it otherwise.

So if you talk to them or some one else get in contact with Dean or I and we'll sort this out. This isnt the first time this has come up but the bike shops are normally only interested if we have like 1000s of members.

Could be! But whatever the reason it also means that there are more fzr people around to chat with and share maintenence tips - I had exterme difficulty finding other fzrs 3 years ago!

It also means that there are more fzr 250's at the wreckers... Needed to get a replacement foot peg, called up 3 different wreckers and each one had at least one fzr with a footpeg that would fit. I was actually able to haggle the final person down (by saying that x wreckers are selling it for $40, and thus you need to do better). Got it for $35, but the wreckers were also around the corner from my house which was much better than across town, so it was also an issue of convenience (price plus location!)

It's unfortunate to take advantage of other peoples misfortunes, but if I don't who will?

    lol

Well Boz they prob brought the whole bike for the price you got the foot peg for so they arnt losing out. But yeah I thinks just that more people are wanting to ride bikes. I dont thing its got some much to do with rossi but more to do with there are more young bikies coming through the wood work and that means more bikes. Alot of people want the fzr cause its kinda like a mini R1 and every body wants one of those beasts.

If your idea is right Embo I would say people will start buying FZRs once he starts wining all the time.

    my 2 c
