Just wondering if any one knows if a zeal engine is the same as the 3LN engine? i have a 3LN race bike, and we have an issue with the big end bearings self destructing, so, Question is, can any one actually confirm if they are the same motor? or if the internals are the same?
Not sure who it was but one guy from tassie got sold a Zeal motor for his bike and i think he gave up in disgust. Similar but different. Different cams and stuff and the ignition is all different. Other stuff too i think. Bob.
The 3LN motors are ok for racing with a minor fix... Have a search back in the posts and find the topic about drilling out the oil-way restrictors in the crankshaft to improve the oil flow to stop the big ends blowing. Thanks for the Feedback guys, was just a thought , mainly as a source of crankshafts/ bearings at better prices. The Mods to the engines with drilling out the oil galleries out helps, but the FZR engines still seem to struggle for longetivety compared the the CBR's im racing against :-(, gonna rebuild it anyways <!-- s --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt="" title="Smile" /><!-- s -->
