    Hey guys,
    I recently bought a 1999 Kawasaki ZR250 Balius.
Sofar I have replaced the oil, oil filter, coolant and about to replace the battery and I was just wondering a few things.

I bought a 2.5L bottle of 10w-40 oil even though my oil capacity as per the owners manual is 2.6L.
When the bike is on the kickstand, I can't see any oil in the gauge on the side of the engine, but when I pull it up straight, it goes just past halfway. Is this alright?

How do I go about flushing the coolant properly with this bike?
When I did it the first time, I emptied it via the drain bolt at the bottom, ran some demineralised water through it and let that drain then topped it up with coolant again.
When I jump started and rode it around a bit today I noticed coolant was leaking (assumably through the radiator cap) so i assumed I didn't have enough in and that it was boiling.
What is the correct way to flush coolant for this motorbike without (assumably) having a reservoir?
    Thanks alot :)

when checking oil levels in a sight glass the bike has to be level, not on the sidestand.

For draining coolant you need to do it from the lowest point in the system. Usually the water pump. The cylinder block should also have drain bolts on it.

Yeah I drained it from the water pump, but I feel as though alot more came out that what I put in.
Is there a way to make sure the system is full and without air bubbles? Or do I have to top it up, run the bike for a little while to get the coolant pumping and top it up until the level doesn't drop any more?

    Thanks :)

Hey Peter, welcome to the forum

I would run it for a bit then let it cool down and top up your coolant and you should be fine.

Awesome, when I get a new battery that can actually hold some charge I'll do that, Thanks!
