Hi folks I have the t shirt for cct sand manual CCT on this bike. It's time to replace the cam chain that slaps the top of the rocker cover at about 10k.......nasty little flapper. I hear two approaches to replacement exist. 1. Winding on an open chain and securing with soft link. 2. Splitting crank case and fitting endless chain. Naturally I want the most reliable chain and easiest method....... Is there a third way ? I am in the UK so my pool of zx2r experienced folk is limited.... Any thoughts or experiences appreciated . Cheers
Her Steve Yes they are 2 that I know of, I recall dougfella had some minor mods done to his crankcase so he could fit an endless cam chain with out splitting the cases , as for the job , you have the manual so it shouldn't be too hard as long as you line the timing marks up and ensure the right cam goes in its spot Cheers Chris Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Cheers Kiffsta I will try and contact Dougfella and find out about this mod as an endless chain inspires a bit more confidence at 19000 rpm! Steve
