Hi ..i have a ZXR 250 A1 and the exhaust system is well rust ..iv gone trough a few sets but there now pritty hard too get 2nd hand here in ireland and a new set ant a option ....so with that has any one ever forced a set off any thing else on too a A1 ..maybe from a CBR 250 ? with some modding . i bought a non running A1 for its parts but when i got it back and striped the exhaust system and tank ..(the 2 bits i need to finish the rebuild) where just held togeather with paint ..just looking for quick fix as i dont really want too have to build a new set of pipes ....fixed the tank by putting a tank in the tank ..so the A1 tank is now just a cover hiding the new fule tank under it

The ZXr250 headers are prone to rusting out, have you tried your local biek breakers ? Maybe a service like this will help you find a set

I'd have a look at cutting the top off the headers and fabing your own set?

jeeezzzz 300,000K around Ireland......thats some amount of driving on a 250.

That is some serious mileage on your 250cc. Think Moo might have a valid point, build or get a set made for your zxr and get some peace of mind. :thumb_ups:

I have done just that . Have headers cut ..Just looking too see had any one found a handy way around it as the bend on 1 and 2 is a bit tricky too clear the sump with out a good benders and the 4-1 point on a stock set is fused not a weld as you cant fit a rod in too weld the last pipe ... was thinking of a K-r1s or ZZR look spilting and going 2 in too 1 on each side but again sump is in the way of going down the left side ... the CBR 250 has the sump in about the same place so thought it might be a close match ....close enough too be "helped" it too place...new sets run around 700 eruo ..but a running and driving ZXR can be bought on the irish market for that money so hard too justafy the spend

would you consider getting someone to fab a set for you? say grip fab or roco proformance? they you have the skill and the benders.

Due too the 4-1 point on the ZXR system any fab shop iv got in touch with want around the same price as buying a set in from japan as that point on the sytem has to be fused not welded as there no room for a rod and mig wire would leave a poor finish ..iv started in too making a jig too get the pipe bent and am hoping too have a set made from 30 mm / 5 mm mildsteal ready too test by monday however i am worried about how heavy the are gona be on the head bolts ..will try get some photos up of home made jig and finished system ...if it works out its a set that any one with a bit of welding skill will be able to build cheaply
