Hey guys I was doing my daily gumtree trawl and I came across a guy selling a zxr250C project bike which apparently has race cams in it and engine work done to it.

Well for the work on the motor I don't know what kind of work you can really do to a zxr to make it more powerful, unless he means jets and exhaust or something like that.

Which leaves the race cams.. Sounds like bull to me, I've never seen/heard of race cams before. But if they exist they must be mighty rare!

I've seen that bike on gumtree I reckon it's a load of bollocks, just an extra selling point without proof.

i guess anything is possible if you have the money, it would be custom made if true.

Ask for the specifications of the cams and who ground them.

I messaged the guy, he can't prove the cams and motor work as he has no receipts etc.

Apparently it was all done by the PO, the cams are supposedly custom grind cams. No idea who did it, the guy spun the 'I was told by PO that it had this and this done' line.

I was just interested in the cams for some reason, it would be pretty cool. I don't have a clue on performance benefits. Lack of proof for engine work and cams makes it sound like bs. Hell, for all I know its just a standard bike.

Could be BS alright. You have to remember that these bikes are very well developed (they are making close to 200HP per LT naturally aspirated) and it would take a VERY good cam grinder who could grind a cam to gain anything more than 1 or 2HP.
