    Hey guys,

My ZXR has a rather frustrating issue right now - the Temp Gauge and the Speedo don't light up.
I've done a bit of investigating and as far as I can see you can't pull these gauges apart so I have no idea what might be broken or if it can even be fixed.

Any help would be appreciated, guesstimating my speed at night is not the greatest idea ever.

the light bulbs them selves should come out mate.. I highly doubt they would seal it so you couldnt change the light bulbs

Yeah that's what I thought as well - but when I removed the gauges a while back there was no removable parts, it was a totally sealed unit apart from the wiring and cable input.

Look again. I've got a zxr250a instrument cluster in parts and each gauge definitely has push-in bulbs in the back casing.

I agree, light bulbs have a shelf life hence there has to be sockets for replacing said bulbs.

Huh. I'll have to have another look then as I really don't remember seeing one. Same as my fzr400.
    Maybe I'm just blind

These should help, the bulbs definitely come out, you will have to remove the bracket to get access to all of them

Ahhhhh that makes much more sense - I thought that was the control wires not the globe.

    Thanks guys

Thanks heaps for your help - replaced the bulbs today, the ones I put in were only 1.2w (all that I could find with limited time) and are a bit dull but a million times better than nothing.

While I was at it today I was looking at changing the headlights to a brighter globe - only the globes, which look identical to a H4 initially are, well. TOTALLY FREAKING DIFFERENT >:E - The 60/35w globes in it have a 65deg offset of the pins and the H4 has a 45deg, as well as having a special little semi-circular cut out to help with allignment.

So after a bit of digging I found that the H6 bulb has the right offset and cut outs.... only they are a 65/55w globe.

Anyone have experience with this? Will the 55w lowbeam element be too hot for the lenses?
