Picked up this one this morning, started stripping her down and ordering the missing parts fortunately I have the majority of things I need. Fairings are in pretty poor condition so I might end up getting a new set. Tyres will need to be replaced and forks rebuilt. Have started rebuilding a set of brake for her, stripped back to bare metal and resprayed ready to re assemble tomorrow. ZXR250C93.jpg IMG_2275.jpg IMG_2278.jpg

I think I might have got the better end of our trade. I think you'll finish this project before I get anywhere near finishing mine. Thanks for the catch up Craig. Cheers

    What's causing the slow progress?

So Undercoated, and gave the fairings the first coat of Lime Green 777, IMG_2415.jpg IMG_2414.jpg IMG_2413.jpg ran out of thinners so they will get their second coat and clear coat tomorrow. Mounted the engine back in the frame. All wiring sorted.

IMG_2420.jpg IMG_2419.jpg IMG_2418.jpg IMG_2417.jpg So fairings are painted, went to do an oil and filter change on the engine and the sump plug thread was stripped (explains leaking oil) I had a spare sump but needed to order a gasket as I did not have one so that will have to wait till the gasket arrives. I will weld up the sump plug hole and re-tap it for a spare at a later date. cant do much more till the gasket arrives so will have to wait till next week before work continues.

Did a little more today, bloody top triple clamp needed to be replaced on close inspection luckily I had a spare. Happy with the way its going to look, not 100% as I spray painted under shitty lights so found a couple of spots that were a bit light on. IMG_2429.jpg IMG_2428.jpg IMG_2427.jpg

Fitted and balanced the tyres today, hopefully bike finished by the end of next week. Need to clear it out and start making some space in the workshop. IMG_2514.jpg IMG_2515.jpg IMG_2516.jpg

Waiting on LiteTek air box seals and air filter, thought I’d throw the tank on to see how it looks. IMG_2522.jpeg

Fairings are looking great with the respray, are they original fairings?
