    hi all,
i am new to riding and recently bought a ZXR250C 1992 bike.
i took it in to get a Warrant today and it failed because my headlight beam was too high and my indicator warning light on the odometer was not working.
could any one advise me on how to fix these issues?

the rest of the odometer works fine.

i have two genuine indicators on the front but then two LED indicators on the back, would this make a difference?

    cheers.

they just got this projector looking thing out but he said i could adjust them and measure it by just putting a piece of paper in front of the light and adjust them.

i have read some forums similar about the indicator problem and some are saying that LED light might not draw enough current to set the light on the odometer off, so i will try replacing the Led indicators with bulb ones tomorrow, hopefully that works.
but the front indicators have pretty powerful bulbs in them so i don't think they are the problem.

LEDs shouldnt make any difference ..... as mentioned maybe just needs a new globe or its fallen out ..... just look behind the gauge cluster..... check the wiring isnt broken or damaged also.

    Headlight adjustment ....

Hi Rose and welcome to the forum. You got a great bike, many here on the forum with zxr250's.
My understanding is that your headlight is set too high, normal setting for height is 810mm from the ground.
Easy enough to get a tape measure against the wall and mark 810mm up, then adjust your light accordingly.
Mr Grey has provided the method, so over to you and good luck.:thumb_ups:

Headlights are relatively easy to adjust - at least the direction they are pointing, anyway!

LED replacement lights sometimes need a resistor to draw enough current - could also be a blown bulb inside the instrument cluster.
I'm trying to work out the indicators on one of my project bikes at the moment - hopefully I'll be able to figure it out soon!

i reckon new bulb in headlight cluster or a dirty connection and a twiddle on the adjustment for the beam. welcome to the site.

hi, I've been pretty busy with work but i finally got around to pulling the headlight off and odometer and having a look at the bulbs,

Turns out the front headlight wasn't too high, one of the bulbs low beam had just blown, so i have replaced that.
I'm not sure if i will have to adjust the lights as well but i will see tomorrow.

and the indicator warning lamp had fallen out, and broken so i will get a replacement for that tomorrow.

thanks for all of the help!

Obvious that there is light at the end of the tunnel :thumb_ups:, seems that it is a relative easy fix, good luck!!
