What's that oil you're putting into your bike?? The hex head socket attachments are a reasonable price from TotalTools. PS. Why do people put those sweatbands onto their master cylinders?
Man, I'm such a lazy bum, oh well, been to busy riding to update, but here we go. Finally got a 17mm bit, and i used my kiwi ingenuity to make a press for the seals (Not the mammal kind...) So i already had the front end apart, and grabbed my new 17mm bit, and my impact driver to crack the tops because im a lazy bum... Then got the forks out, and started with Mighty Righty. Shiny! Took the caps off (By hand!) and removed the dust cover, lucky both dust covers are still MIIIIIIIINNT! so keep them on. Tipped old grey sludge out, i mean oil out, and grabbed the space, washer, spring, and all the other mechanical wizardry things outta there, and then on guy said to grab a 6mm allen key and get the retaining screw out the bottom, and use all your might to get it out, well screw that, i went to bunnings and got a 6mm impact bit for me impact driver and just blasted that b!t@h out said it was the hardest part as its all loctiteded in. hah, dont hate, im gentle with it, i use it in delecate electronic situations at work most days, IM NOT A BUTCHER! Moving on, pulled apart and old seal (again, not mammal) off, gave her a quick clean with old mate degreaser! hosed down and dried. new seals on, and at this point there is a slide tha goes in first under the washer in the next photo. The guy who i was reading the write up on said he got the slide in by tapping it slowly in with a screwdriver, and well you can see my screwdriver there, and not my very very very very.... angry face. almost completely funked up the slide in the process, at this point it was 8.45. so SCREW it, back to bunnings, and next photo is my custom made press. *Diclaimer: All rights reserved on the cbr250rr fork seal (Not mammal) press 8000, any copies without permission from HAMZ will result in a big spanking! So irrigation 25mm pipe is the go FYI, funny enough inside diameter of the 25mm irrigation pipe is 37.56mm Go figure? and i had measure the outside diameter of the fork at 36.79mm. so this stuff was perfect, and the timber, and the mallet one tap and shes in! (Thats a first hahah!) Next i slid the new seal in place, and slid the old over to use that to protect it while i gave it a good whack. all in all worked a charm in the end, and got it all together easy enough. And the old 20c spacer trick money money money, MONEY (Sings the Apprentice theme music) and i put her all back together and took a photo of her for you guys!, i dont think i have showed her to you guys yet 0.0 my bad too busy having fun! LED tail lights are in too, and look amazeballs, ALOT brighter anyhow. What? you want me to shut up? well too bad, there is more to the story So last weekish.. @Moo sused a brother out with some braided lines and a new master cylinder off a gixer 600 (More flow) and he did an awesome job!, me in my zeal screwed up my one job all i really did was drill and tap a M6 hole in the top triple clamp to hold the new Brake Res. so drill i did (You all think im a butcher now ...... ) and just let all the shavings go everywhere, wel didnt think much of it, and we had the greatisted of times bleeding the breaks didn't we bro Eventually got the brakes to the point where i could ride home. the next day, brakes locked on. hmm, thats weird, so that night i had done my fork seals (not mammal), and bleed the front calipers to release them to go for a test ride, well, part way down the road the bike start struggling to run, and front brake stops me, so i pull over and front wheel is locked, GREAT! so call my flatemate to come and bring a 8mm spanner. so he comes, i release the caliper, all good for the next 2 days?? then it happens again, so last sunday decide to fin out whats happening. WELL, turns out, it was just the right front caliper locking, and a piece of alliminium shaving had got into the RH braided line, causing a bit of a one way valve, when my breaks got hot the rotor would push the caliper back a tad leaving the wheel free, whe the brakes and fluid cooled the caliper would press in and not put fluid back in the Res, so i mannaged to flush it out anyway now and now i have amazing breakes, and an amazing bike... just saying haha. So i now had brakes, i went to Barbagallo because i was helping Mr. Bean off PSB hold the sign out, i KNOW! so technical, and he won! and got to take photos with some hot birds! One happy man there haha! was an awesome race. And now, due to @Moo 's bad/goo influence, i have booked in for a stage 1 at barbs next sat (Jun 6) and got me a onepiece Gotta love gumtree and do not worry, i will not go in socks! Dude, i fully ignored you message sorry, I'm a terrible person Yeah the socket attachment was perfect, good idea that was! truth be told i was actually looking for a 17mm allen key, and glad i didn't get one, i don't like hard work. that's why i have tools and electrickery to do the hard stuff for me I assume you mean motor oil? its whats in the photo, i got it from super cheap, i like semi's as the detergents clean the motor a tad, and are a bit cheaper, my take on oil is that as long as you change it regulatory like a sane person, and have the correct weight, it doesn't really matter IMO The sweat bands are for cool kids, actually i grabbed this from @Moo 's office, i mean garage (Sorry Moo your gonna get like 5 alerts from 2 posts lol). i wanna get a red one with the angry eyes and teeth because they are cute/funny
I hope you didn't use car oil. You need proper motorcycle oil without friction modifiers, due to bikes using a wet clutch. Most cars are dry clutch (no oil in them)
hmmmmm, that may explain random clutch silppage....... hahaha ohh thats bad, and hilarious. i will get proper oil soon then hahaha
Yea that's why I asked what oil you put in. Cause it didn't look like bike oil, looked like car oil. You can get Penrite HPR Gas10 if you want cheap oil. It's a car oil but suitable for wet clutch bikes - the packet even has a picture of a bike and forklifts etc. on the bottom to show it's compatible. Dump the car oil out, filter it/check no clutch fibres in it, then stick it into your car if you have one, then the oil doesn't go to waste.
If you can get it, Delo 400 Multigrade. Made for Diesels, which use wet clutches mostly. @GreyImport and @Grasshopper got it for the fizzers.
A lot of the dirtbike boys use Delo as well cause it's cheap and they dump their oil after every ~5 hours runtime.
@Pygmygod nah cant use the car oil, the fj still get serviced by toyota so no need for it, flatemate dosnt need it, and other flatmete has bike aswell, so in the bin i guess. Cheers for the info, i will just head to the motorbike shop tomorrow and see if they have a 2.5L for a decent price.

Haha, what i didn't tell you Moo, was i came off the track at turn 5 and went into the sand. I managed to stay on the bike and got back onto the track. That was a bit of a scare, but wasn't leaning enough and wasn't too confident. One of the coaches saw and signaled me to follow him/her, so i did and they showed me good turning points and went at a pace that i could follow and increased their speed over the next few laps. Big boost in confidence that was. Still soo much to learn! But soo much fun. Im supprised how fast you can do turns in the wet! These machines are absolutely unbelievable, im going to book the next stage i think
Im so jealous of the mods you do!!!! Here i am with (clutch, rear sets, jetting/airfilter). And your all like breaks, braidedlines, susp whats up! It doesnt say in the write up but I hope you used 15w oil instead of 10w? Lots of people seem to swear by the 15w.
