I believe Mr Grey is correct about the restriction being created by the airbox not the filter. That air filter element is from the FZR400RR, so it is certainly not going to restrict your 250. One of the members on another forum reported that in a conversation regarding the FZR400 with someone from K&N, their testing had proven that the airbox itself is the restriction not the filter. So you can just put the complete airbox on with no filter and that will be a valid test. And yes you can just replace the sealing foam on the ends of the filter, it is a good idea.

    Re your leak test:
A leaking intake tract should display a very distinct change in rpm. For what it is worth, I am not convinced.
    cheers
    Blair

Yeah some spray contact adhesive and air filter foam is a possibility, been done before.

But are the FZR250 that same as the FZX250 filters?

Mr Greyimport has already given you the link for the uniflow page.
You just need to confirm that the late model FZR400 filter that they list is what it says it is.

Yes Grasshopper pointed out your post while he was sitting idly surfing the net in the shed and I was slaving away on his wheel bearings and forks
    C3s they are!

FZR 3LN and Zeal are totally different ...... FZR 2KR are cylinder shape like the Zeal but no idea if they are the same

    2KR part # 1HX-14451

Put another 3 months rego on Nix as it expired today and she's too much fun to ride to sell just yet :crazypilot:

The cheap dented tank I found for Scarlet on Ebay arrived today, so I fitted a new washer on the petcock before putting it on Scarlet's original tank and leak-testing it.
All good so the tank goes back on over the weekend! :D

So looking over the cabies againand noticed this the caps on 1 and 2 are on wrong and no oring on wat ever that holes do im assuming that feeds fuel to the needle? By the looks of the diaphrams the carbies have been rebuilt at some point not long before i purchased the bike years ago. (I've only done just under 3000kms on the bike)
