    Big day in the shed today as we are locked up and cannot go anywhere.
    Started by moving a couple of bikes around, then I wiped the dust off some others, charged two batteries, stacked some boxes of parts in a corner, swept the floor and sat in my chair to admire my work.
    Tomorrow I might get busy and polish my sockets and ring spanners. :D

    I actually went for a spin on the CB400FS this afternoon... about a 15 minute ride, just to clear the head a bit. Been stuck in the damned office at home for too long now.
    At least the weather is getting a little better so I can get back to doing some stuff on the bikes.

    I got my bike up on the bench at work yesterday for a little maintenance.

    Found the exhaust hanger nut missing, replaced with a longer bolt and new locknut (not a nyloc nut, a flanged locknut)

    Replaced brake fluid front and rear, lubed the clutch cable and adjusted at both ends.

    Tyre pressures.

    I finished my studies end of last year and have finally become a qualified mechanic, got my tradesman certificate and all. In the future I will be doing the course to be able to do blue and pink slips. So now I'm "the mechanic" instead of "the apprentice" :minigun:

    Have to move home, a royal pain during this lockdown nonsense here in Sydney. Luckily, it seems we have found a place very close for the same money, and with a carport with rear lane access and a secure roller door. No more streeth parking hopefully :neo:

    Congrats mate , how far have you come from riding the dodgy ninja 250 to being a fully qualified mechanic . super proud of you , but you will always be the apprentice to the long term members

    Got my brother to collect it, now the wait until I go get it.

    In the meantime, I went to work on the VTR again, didn't get far, again. The carbies were pretty clean, but there was this:

    There wasn't a lot going for this bike, both wheels are broken, bars are bent, tank is the victim of a gang bashing, front and rear brakes are seized, it would need a chain, probably brake pads and the usual set of tyres. I could buy a complete and running VTR for a similar sum and save myself the effort!

    So on to the DR350, instead. Our old farm bike, taken a beating (they are a tough bike, it fought back), and I'm trying to put it on the road. Scrounged around for parts, found indicators, battery box, the headlight I bought (need to make mounting brackets), a neutral position sensor, and a couple of other bits. We still have the original gauge cluster, but the mounts have been broken for 2 decades, and gluing them back on was futile, so an alternative will sought. Then I noticed 2 cut wires on the cluster for the turn signal light - that was a painful and dodgy task, let's hope it works! Didn't get far, but it's a start.
