Just castrol activ 4t was $24.95 since to special. I remember one of the racers on here said he doesn't bother with anything else. You getting off your L's GI?
P course was all booked out last year except the VJMC weekend ..... got to have your priorities right.
fuel tap... **** its self so blocked the vacuum line off and put a nsr tap the gravity feed works fine..
Resealed and cleaned the carbs from Robbo's 3LN1. First I would like to say thanks to Blair from Litetek for the effort he has put into producing these kits so that they are so easy to fit. Had to use an impact driver with the jaso bit to get the screws loose as I don't think they had been out since the factory put them there, and still managed to chew the head of one. What I found inside the bowls was not pretty. With them all apart it was time for some cleaning. I had to soak the jets in thinners for a couple of hours, then prod them with fine wire to get them clear. Paul told me the last time the bike had run it was still on leaded fuel, looks like it too. With all the new seals installed and back together I have left them over a bucket for the night with a fuel line to the roof mounted litre tin half full of fuel to see if we have any leaks.
I'm not running premix currently but I was just gonna mix up some fuel for a test to see how much oil the pump is pumping. New problem though is the 20A main fuse went. Current suspect is the R/R since it looks to be old. I had a faulty one on my MC22. A bit of a bummer though, but luckily Tyga has them for 50 USD. The Honda dealer quoted me $250 for one a few years ago.
Finally got the time to re seal the cracked inlet manifolds on my zeal, checked out the carb bowls which were surprisingly clean, adjusted throttle cables, clutch cable and front brake lever. Its now running better than ever.
The sun was out today for the first time in days, so leaking head gasket or no, I went for a ride. Either way, the bike simply did not give a f*ck What I have learned is that I don't like Dunlop Arrowmaxes... I'm going to get some Pirelli Sport Demons again.. Went through the national park, took the scenic route to Wollongong (Nasho was alright, but the traffic was **** through Lilyvale to the Gong) and went up the Macquarie Pass (an absolute blast, if only a 10 minute ride uphill) and had a pie at the Robertson pieshop. For some reason I decided to through Bowral to get home... Old home town. Was very boring and achy on the way home (Hume Hwy), I should have turned around after fueling up at the Robertson servo. Steve still runs the joint @Grasshopper but its had a major renovation since I was last there. Robertson pizza place still there. Kangaloon road, sketchy as all hell, no lines, should not be a 70 zone... but a nice scenic road. Like I said though, bad head gasket or no, the bike didn't care. The overflow starts bubbling at redline but that's about it. My only regret today is that I took the boring way home!!! The route
I know it'll sound like a stupid question, but did you replace the radiator cap with the correct pressure cap, not just the same as what was on it as it might be wrong. It's just a bit strange that there's no usual symptoms of a blown head gasket like, oil in the water, water in the oil, miss firing, hard to start, rough running & all this gets worse & worse pretty quickly. I ran it past dad & the first thing he said it sounded like to him is a crook cap.
replaced fork dust seals on the 600.was cheaper to buy the fork seals from 2 different suppliers, pity they arrived at different times.
