That should save a lot of messing about.
I notice the cylinder is even cast with 144CM3 on the side. I think it is actually 144.66, but that is pretty close.
If the estimated delivery date of 8th Aug is accurate, that isn't too long a wait.

I checked the barrel , it's a 122cc job, with a bogged up cam chain wear hole,,
    bore - 56.4
    sleeve OD - 61.75
    deck height - 68.17
    casting # 324
As far as paper weights go, it's fine :thumb_ups:

Well I have advice from Ali Express that the item has left China and also a message from Australia Post that a parcel is being prepared so it is looking like it will be ontime at this stage.

I dropped down to collect my now useless barrel and piston... Can I interest anyone in a 61mm piston and rings perhaps??
As you can see there is basically shim material left on the lower protrusion... if it hadnt braken a piece out it wouldnt have lasted very long so potentially saved a bigger rebuild down the track a little way.

    UPDATE............................

My megapower 150cc BIG BORE kit from Ali Express has cleared Customs in Sydney.
The downside of that means that now Australia Post will take over and the item will go from Sydney to Melbourne and then back to Albury... Oh well, I am away in Toowoomba all next week for work so who knows, it might be here by the time I get home next Friday lol

Edit: Australia Post must be listening to me... not 2 minutes after I did this post I get a notification saying my delivery will be here between Monday 31st and Wed 2nd August... knowing my luck the only on-time package from Australia Post will be when I am away :)

And as predicted, my big bore kit was delivered yesterday an hour after I left for the Airport….
Still, it is a week earlier than they said that part is impressive.
Pics and info on my return to Border Country on Friday afternoon….maybe Saturday.

Home again... and only just had the chance to open the package and check out the "big bore kit" and low and behold...
I need to bore the cases... the sleeve lower is a smidge over 66mm so about 2mm oversize.
Not going to happen right now... I will put the original Chinese barrel back on and look for a dud bottom end or a set of cases and worry about it later.
Normal programming will resume from this point onwards :)

    100 has smaller case mouth.
Can you machine a couple of mm off the sleeve?

Same stroke, barrel bolt pattern, smaller gudgon pin dia.
The advantage would be in having a bare set of cases to machine to suit the ali Barber & his team's big bore barrel :thumb_ups:

Depends on the price of the cases I guess. For the moment it is now back together with the Stock Chinese barrel and piston.
Just need to do the static timing with it on the bench to save my back and then plonk it back into the frame.
I would love to find a dead SL125 motor and properly build up a Big Bore stroker but they are rare as Rocking Horse droppings... and expensive. So many people bag out the little SL but nearly everyone that has bits wants a small fortune for them... go figure.

After putting back the standard Chinese Barrel and piston... new condensor and new coil, filing the points and carefully setting the points and static timing the little mongrel wouldnt even give a hint of life earlier today... fuel gushed out of carby from almost every orifice and straigth from the bowl... must have a crack.
So after swearing at it and threatening it with the remainder of the petrol I had I walked away for a while.
Coming back after 2 hours I decied to check everything... yes I had great spark... for a 6 volt system. All settings were right so I crabbed some carby cleaner... gave it a great big squirt into the plug hole and then some in the carby throat... kicked her twice and she ran.... for about 30 or so seconds till it ran out of fuel.
I gave it another big squirt of carby cleaner and this time managed to get a very short video... as proof lol

So now to get myself a new carby as this one has been cleaned several times in the ultrasonic, had its orifices ppoked, prodded and blown out and a full kit put in it and it still leaks etc.
Chinese units are cheap and they work... so hopefuly that will enable me to move on with getting it running properly.

Yes... I clumsily broke one of my "plastic" rear blinkers... might search out s couple of better ones lol

It has had a full kit put through it including needle and seat, o rings, jets etc.
A new knockoff is on its way so hopefully it helps it run nicely.

A bit of an update... the new "knockoff" carby was totally incorrect... it is a 20mm carby wherre the SL125 uses a 24mm so it didnt fit and would have been useless if it did... yay for Fleabay. I got my money back and still have the small carby... it will probably go in the bin to be honest.
I delved back into the original carby and played around with the float level... I managed to get it to run for longer than last time.. so I know it will run, now to getting it looking like it should... that needs some paint.

I am using DNA Paints HeliX Silver Bullet, which is actually a Pearl Basecoat but it is a great choice (in my opinion anyway) for the SL125 as it is close to the original Silver.
So far I have done the front and rear mudguard as well as the headlight bucket. The tank iw awaiting final wet sanding and the side covers are brand new so they just need plastic priming. I purposely left the tank and the side coavers till last as they have the decals also to be applied and then the clear coat done.
I used a 2 pak rattle can clear on the parts today. It supposedly has the hardner mixed in the can from purchase and it is only activated when you paint with it... I am not entirely sure on it but the finish is OK and it will be fine for the guards etc.
The tank will have the black 3" strip down the centre as well as the decals etc so it will be a little more complicated to paint.

The last pic was taken before I did the last reasonably heavy coat... I will see how they all look by the end of the week after being left to sure in the Garage.

I did a lillte bit more today but ran out of the Silver Paint and need to de-nib the side panels as there is a little dust in the paint... grrr.
Maybe Clear coat them tomorrow, maybe next weekend when I hopefully get to the tank as well.
A little bit of assembly as well... slowly moving forward.
