    Greeting all

So...just got my Across back form the mechanic, then got the spark plug leads the wrong way around. So fixed and all working... Whet for a nice long ride with my Partner..OMG i love this bike...

    The next morning..:(29/07/16
..Started off for TAFE at 8:30 whet the back road to pass the school traffic.
..Bike was all good, then around a corner the back wheel slipped a little..."OK that weird?"
..Started to slow down for an intersection and the bike swayed left and right like speed wobble. (going 5k's ish) "OK?"
..Turned from corner, bike felt low on power "Hmm?"
..Went about 100m down road bike said "PULL OVER!!" So i started to slow down from 30 ish to 20...indicated.
..Then back wheel slipped, handle bars went hard right than hard left the bike lent left. and i was off
the bike and i scraped 5 meters. with me stopping 10cm from hitting my head on the gutter.

    FUC!!!FUC!!!FUC!!!:(
I got the bike running on the 26th..
As of the 6th the bike has been Written off..LOL all i can do now is laugh. DSC_1403.JPG DSC_1404.JPG

Sorry to hear that, InvaderIMD . Good that you or your passenger weren't hurt though.

Do you know what made the bike go weird just before you crashed?

Will you get a new bike?

Oh nasty... at least you made it through... if that happened at 100 kph I can't imagine how it may have ended.

Next step is to take a breath, clear the head and make some decisions... insurance is good but with a few parts you may get back on the road too...

    So. Where do I begin.
The weird left and right swaying was the same feeling from before I had it servicd. But there is no way knowing now if the mechanic looked at the stering head bering or not.
Theay changed the frount wheel bearing.

I called them up after the crash. Theay said my tires where flat.

Anyway cant do much now. The bike has already been assessed to be a write off
The bike was fully insured. Including riding gear.

Allready looking for a new bike. Hope I can find a nouther accross.

Any one know of one going in Hobart region?
Found one on gum tree but needs pit passing.

Was insured with swann. Will post when I get some info back.

Sorry to hear about your crash, not an expert but just want to give a quick tip. If something doesn't seem right and you don't know the bike like the back of your hand you should pull over and inspect immediately if it is safe to do so, even if you have to throw the hazards on.
Secondly, certain basic maintenance routines are a 100% must for motorcycles and in your case if it was because of flat tyre (even though I am left open to think there might have been other factors), you should check your bikes tyre PSI at least every 2 weeks and or every second fill up at the service station (because your there you may as well take the 5 mins and check). It actually sounds like to me that a wheel bearing failed and possibly the rear wheel spacers where missing or installed incorrectly along with possible low PSI and or the axle bolt came loose. The symptoms you describe does not match the story but its hard to know unless experienced first hand.
You don't want to learn lessons the hard way with motorcycles, a long time ago my tyre dealer described it like this:
"when you first start riding you have a bucket filled with luck and time, as your bucket of time and luck depletes you need to fill it with knowledge and skill because if you don't then the saying "its not if your going to crash its when" very much becomes reality.

Does any one know if i can dispute/argue the mechanic might of done something wrong?

the front wheel Bering was replaced and the rear break rotor was replaced...so both wheels where off the bike at one point..
it was only 5 days from the mechanic when i crashed...

Be hard to prove it was the mechanic but I'd be having words with him especially if he's been touching your front wheel bearing.
