As you should, you've covered a lot of area in a very short time. Also, nothing has gone pear shaped so far, lucky devil.

she just idles high after a good revv... but by the sounds of it... a carb issue possibly - those pesky springs need to be cleaned and re-seated. ;)

quick update, getting a roadworthy done tomorrow afternoon so i can do the legal stuff with qld transport...

dude at the bike shop reckons he knew what bike was pulling up before he saw it "yep, i can pick that ZXR sound anywhere" he said.

only things stopping her from getting a solid pass is the fork seals and mayyybe the brake rotors. - i'll wait and see

point to note: he also had a stock of 'liquid intelligence" coolant for those who need a supplier.

Hey Cal, a man on a mission to get that machine on the road, good for you.:thumb_ups:
Noticed in your pictures the front forks, a quick spray of the good old WD40 and some lite steel wool will clean up your chromes pretty well and push your dust cap in followed by a good wipe, should be sweet. Also for your information fork seal kits for your bike are available via the forum from Pyramid parts, got to give them a plug:):thumb_ups:
Brake rotors, grab a clean rag pour some methylated spirits and rub your rotors, you'll be amazed how much junk comes off, if they look good people don't go looking;)
Good luck tomorrow mate, hope it goes well.:thumb_ups:

fellas, is it worth trimming the spark plug caps down a few mil to get a better connection on the plug, seems like they are only holding by a thread or two :/

still getting all 4 cyl, but worried if i hit a decent enough pot-hole a cap might simply pop right off the plug!:idk:

    - on a brighter note, ive ordered a new fuel cap assembly, brake pads (from pyramid parts, thnx Phil) and a new set of front brake rotors :). should have that gear in the next couple of weeks

    Hey Call
Not certain that will remedy your problem, generally speaking if the caps are at that stage, best to replace with new ones. You can try it, but it might not work???? Had a similar issue with my Bandit, took the caps off an Across Chris had in his garage, they were brand new. Got back home, installed the new caps and discovered the Across were much longer, looked like I had 4 chimneys protruding from the head of my Bandit, Mission FAILURE.

Nice one Cal, make sure when you fit the rotors, you use some lock tight on the bolts :thumb_ups:

If they are the correct caps and correct plugs they should push on with a few clicks ..... have a good look inside them to make sure the "connectors" arnt damaged or squashed or corroded.
I replaced mine as they arnt very expensive ...... have a look here ....

    http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?resources/ngk-resistor-covers-identification-and-part-numbers.84/

And these guys have a great selection and sell via ebay ...... I got mine from them.( http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/my-fizzer.872/page-3 )

    http://www.gsparkplug.com/shop/

The other thing to do is unscrew the caps from the lead and trim a few mm to get some new wire and a new area to screw back into ..... be careful to make sure the screw stays in the centre and doesnt end up in the rubber.

Also mate the caps just need to be the right size for the leads and plug ...... they can be straight, angled or wateva u want
..... in other words like arnt particually bike specific , but u obviously want them to sit properly .

I dispensed with the rubber hole covers and just made sure thet would sit nicely in their spots without fouling anything.

That ebay seller says they are SD05F ...... which is what mine were.

    Hey Call
You can also try going to a Kawasaki dealer, take the old plug lead and see if any of the stock they have fits. You can get lucky.:thumb_ups:

    - just spent a few hrs this morning scrubbing all the spot rust and soot off the old rotors and forks, it look more presentable (for todays roadworthy, fingers crossed) if you reference one of the pics i posted earlier ^^

ahhhhhh noooo bad new guys, the brake rotors were 1 mill too thin all round'

so not a pass today, but he was good about it - did not charge me a cent and reckons that's all the bike needs for a pass (i can still ride it though... still registered :p just not in my name)

THE GOOD NEWS; already have a new set of rotors on the way with pads.
