Dont know about VIC, but the radar detector detectors work VERY well in NSW.

You'll find a lot of rego checks etc are now being done on our computers inside the police cars so as private info about the owners of the vehicles etc isn't publicly heard. Until we get the encoded digital radio networks happening where people cannot listen in with a scanner expect less and less over the air transports. <!-- s --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cool.gif" alt="" title="Cool" /><!-- s -->

i was told it was ok as long as i didnt bring it out of my house.
