Help FZR 250 2KR Carb rebuild

    I will get off my ever growing fat behind and look into the mould costs for these parts. The bikes are getting so old now that we have to expect more owners will need an affordable replacement.

    Felipe, i ordered one online from their site. i have sent an enquiry about them from their homepage contact site, but have yet to receive a response. I will wait a while, and then i will let everyone know how i went.
    Either they will be recommended, or i will bag the sh!t out of them, and advise everyone not to deal with them.

    As for the xj600, no i haven't tried, but i also found the one from a Hyosung GT250 look the same (HYOSUNG PART # 13338HG5100). Again, i don't know whether the slide is the same size. The holes on the bottom of the slide are in a different location (don't know whether this makes a difference), and i don't know the length or the circumference of the slide, but the rubber diaphragm part looks the same, and they also use a BDS26 carb.

    @maelstrom posted a link to taking off the slide from the Hitachi one, but that involves cutting the plastic ring on the top. The literature i found from NRP to fitting their diaphragm suggest that you DO NOT CUT plastic ring.
    So, i'm waiting to get theirs, and their instructions on fitting, before i go any further.

    Short Answer:
    Yes, USA version of Seca should be fine

    Long Answer:
    You can check on my website.
    Since the 2KR uses FB-014 float bowl gasket, you can search for that on the home page to find what other models use the same part. If the bowl gasket is shared (same body) then it is most likely the diaphragm will be the same. You can also search on Partzilla or similar using the Yamaha part number but that will only bring up USA models, nothing like the FZR250.

    Well let's see what the process is to replace them, which you have well under way. That could be an importnat factor for me to consider for the BDS types.

    To convert the Yamaha US part number to AU, Japanese or European all you do is drop the -00 from the end of it

    The Siriusoninc diaphram's have listed that they replace a couple of other's too, the Yamaha

    Replaces OEM# 3BG-14940-00, 4NK-14940-00 and 4TR-14940-00-0, so you may be able to find some of the other part number's too as discounted nos part's
    This is the fitting instruction's, slice the top ring with a stanley knife, use super ? glue to hold the rubber to the slide, then fit the plastic ring back on top and glue it back together (hold it with a zip tie till it dry's)
    They also have a list their replacement part fit's, bigger list than Yamahas'

    Just got the diaphragms by Fedex!! I'll let you know in a week then the bike gets back from the specialist. So anxious to try it!!

    Ok, received the diaphragms from "NRP Motorcycle & Carburettors".
    However, they didn't send any "hints and tips" on removing the old ones and installing the new ones. Their site specifically says NOT to cut the plastic ring from the slide, and that they will send hints and tips on how to do this.
    NOTHING came.
    So, i emailed them. And emailed them again. And again. And went on their website and sent a note on their "contact us" page.
    But nothing. No reply, no acknowledgment, just silence. They just ignored me.

    So, from that experience, i would not recommend them for anything. By not sending me what they say they would, and ignoring all my emails, they are fraudulent in their claims. They say they provide diaphragms on the basis that you can install them without cutting the plastic ring, but they can't provide proof on how it is done.

    In my dealings, i call them liars, because they do not deliver what they say they will.

    What is worse is that at the price they charge for one diaphragm, i can get two complete slide and diaphragms for a Hyosung, which has exactly the same size diaphragm that fits on the BDS26 carb. I can cut the plastic ring, and remove the diaphragm, and then figure a way to install on my carb.

    So, NRP are rip-offs, and fraudulent on their claims in my opinion.

    So now, i can cut the plastic ring on my slide and re-install as per the post earlier that gives instructions, or i may figure out a way that i can press out the plastic ring through the top of the slide, install the diaphragm, and press fit the plastic ring back on.
    I'll try this first.

    The Siriusoninc diaphragms go great!!! Bike works great and revs great too.
