Here's the start of my restoration project for my fzr250 3HX1, I'm gonna be posting a bit just to document the whole process.
Started with a rolling chassis(and engine)basically. Got a few parts but missing a heap

Got the loom finally, and the front left switch.
Also fixed the handle bars up (thanks for the suggestions @GreyImport).
Also found the fuel cap surround!(needs a polish).

Not sure if the switch is the e x a c t one for my bike, but it works with the loom so...:thumb_ups:

Anyone know where I could find a dust cap/cover for the front wheel bearing? (Opposite side to the disk)

Do you have a dash cluster/speedo and cable?
Might be on the end of the cable still ?

    Otherwise this might fit ?-

@GreyImport or @kiffsta may have one for a 2KR, or they might be abl;e to check if a 3LN speedo drive will fit
part number - 2L4-25190-00 for the 2KR's and part number - 3WG-25190-00 for the 3LN's
The 2KR speedo drive is also used on the SRX250

Got it!. Cleaned up all the connections and it was happy. Still need the cdi box to run it, but the starter(solenoid sounds good) is working, the bike is turning over, and there doesn't seem to be any horrific noises coming from the motor (yet).

The horn works too - sounds hilarious, but it sure is a classic jap bike horn.

Still gotta do a comp test, but looks good so far.

I checked the oil, it looks like it was just recently replaced; like it just came out the bottle. I drained it, and it was great, so yeah.

So uhhh... After I drained the oil at the sump, and saw it was clean, I never bothered to check the oil filter, After I put the spec amount of oil back in I turned over the bike(didn't start, still need the coils and cdi). And oil went everywhere... Turns out there wasn't actually an oil filter in the bike to begin with nor the filter cover, which I failed to notice when draining. I'm kinda questioning why oil never came out of it while it was stationary but yeah, another part I'm missing... Yay.

Anywhere I can get a replacement? Or is there any other bike that has the same cover? (Need parts 1 & 3, but everything is discontinued):headbang:

Do you ever come to Adelaide?
I have an almost complete 2KR engine here, also have a TCI, wiring harness, air filter box, radiator and a couple of other spare's that i would sell.

From the lack of oil filter , clean oil and the extreme cleanliness of inside the engine it may have been rebuilt?

Potentially, yes, but not recently. The bike has had a few owners, the one I bought it off said that he did not personally touch the motor though. His words were "the bike ran before it was disassembled" I haven't had any more response from him as I have been trying to track down any parts he may have left out.

He had it for two years, and I'm not sure how long he had it before disassembling it. So yeah. Not alot of history on it.
