Legally any bike that is imported into Australia can be advertised as tha date it was first registered in Aus. Therefore you can have say a 1987 Yam that was imported into Aus in 2005 and registered here for its compliance plate and so can be advertised as a 2005 model. Just something to watch out for on any bike or car for that matter.

I have a 91 3ln coming in, I have to wait until the snow is gone (I have a mere foot of the white stuff) to ride it though. I'm very tempted to see if my spare RZ350 race engine will fit in the FZR250. Make for some very interesting conversation up here.

Hi guys, sory to post here, but, according to this webpage http://www.my-x15.net/FZR_INFO.html
mine is an exup fizzer, but i have a doubt so i wonder if you guys can tell me.
my frame is a 2kr and the engine is 1hx165...
the title says 1989, but my doubt comes because it does not say ''exup'' on the bike, and as i dont have it near me for reasosn i will explain later, i cant look for the valve.

Thanks!

I guess that you will have to wait until you can find the serial number stamped on the neck of the bike. Other than that it is not always obvious what model that you have. My 2KR was an '89, and probably the last of the 2KR's.

OK Cnoster, looks like a non standard paint job was causing the confusion as to which model you had.
That should make you happy now.
