Also wouldn't hurt to ask the previous owner if he still has the stock one (if you haven't already)

Just finished a few beers with your old man and he was telling me how u were going ......

Im no expert on blue slips and noise levels but Id agree that u just cant get failed because of a mechanics opinion ..... get it tested.

Second option would be grab that one for$35 ...should only be $10-15 for post.
Text or call the guy ...Ive found hardly anyone replies to emails/messages on Gumtree.

This was on the swingarm of my FZR with a stock exhaust ...I guess the grey importer had to do it .

Good in theory - unfortunately in NSW you can't jump places after you've had it checked the first time, as the RTA prevents that from happening by their online logging system. The guy who looked at it first would have logged it into the system which means you have to return to him to get it to pass. Source of much frustration when I lived in NSW. Had to go by word of mouth to find someone reasonable.

Good buy mate, I have a 2012 ninja 250 special edition. Great bike to learn on and ride. I commute 60ks a day on it and it's very comfy. And for that price is a steal

Picked up the exhaust. Had a chat with the bloke, said he had an M4 on his ninja. Said he also had put baffles in it... and it became so heavy that it fell off the bike! Not sure if it was that heavy or of it just wasn't put on properly. Still... +7 HP and me at barely 60KG may be a little too fast. Like the sound of the M4 though. I guess I'll see (or hear) how this other one turns out.

Run the stock one for awhile untill u get used to the bike and get a bit of riding in ....then put the other on to spice things up.
If it is pretty loud you dont want to attract our lovely police enforcement initially.
