Starting from next year, there will be demerit points for parking offences.

 

no waaay are you serious kev? thats so screwed up.if raising revenue is what the govt wants they would be better off increasing the fines but leaving the points coz if they if everyone loses points for pissy little fines no ones gonna be able to drive a car if they get suspended and there will be less revenue from parking fines.
Also, i guess that means cops <!-- s:cop --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cop.gif" alt=":cop" title="Cop" /><!-- s:cop --> will start issuing out fines too which is a massive waste of their time seeing that they're trained for better and would probably much rather do other stuff than taking on some council lackies job.

 

yep. i saw it on today tonight about 2 months ago. I wish i was still on my L's! i was on my L'd for three years hahahahah. no points to lose back then. although everytime i got caught driving on my own it was like $68 for it and another $68 for not displaying L plates.

 

Getting caught in vic while on L's without plates and without a driver next to you is stuffed. I think u might get a warning first..with a fine..but if it happens again u cant get ur license till ur 21
