6 months ago i chased up everyone i could find via google looking for a rebuild kit and the answer i got was No i have sent out a number of emails to the companies i tried 6 months ago with links to the full exploded view of the carby with part numbers and the document i produced with the cross reference material in it so hopefully they will have no excuses this time cos it was all to hard 6 months ago for them. in the mean time, if your gasket is leaking, buy some of the permatex permashield and your good to go http://www.permatex.com/products/Automotive/automotive_gasketing/gasket_makers/permatex_permashield_fuel_resistant_gasket_dressing_flange_sealant.htm however, the permashield isnt availible in australia yet, so you will have to import it from the usa i will keep you all posted
guys, i *think* im making progress on this idea.i have come up with a handfull of places what actually look promising for getting parts from at half decent prices and their customer service people are actually willing to get off their backside and do something to help. please have a look thru these diagrams and tell me your thoughts on what should be included in a rebuild kit Main.carby.parts.bsw27.Gsx250f.gsxr250 Complete.bsw27.Carby.parts.diagram.and.Part.numbers
Main jets x4 Pilot jets x4 Slides x 4 jet needle x 4 pilot Screw x4 Needle Jet x 4 Maybe a few seals, spacers for the needle jet etc T.D Hatrick are the Aussie disty's for Mikuni http://www.mikunioz.com/ , they might be able to hook you up !!!
T.D Hatrick are only 10 minutes ride from my house. spoken to them some time ago and they said no as the carby is an OEM unit. however i have stumbled across a cross reference guide for mikuni jet sizes and im my spare time im trying to get the cross reference done so i can go back and talk to them again
Hey Ozbiker I was wondering why we hadn't heard you mention T.D.HATRICKS as they are Townsville based. With your additional info in hand, lets hope they can assist you now. Phil
Part 10 and 7 would be very handy as they definitely wear down! Mine are pretty gouged up. As for a rebuild kit i have one here for a fiat, all it has in it is diaphragms and rubber bits + gaskets. Aka all the perishable items. No jets or anything like that
i emailed Springwood suzuki in brissy today, they have the parts availible to rebuild the bsw27 carburettor. just visit my scribd account and get the parts listing from there. however to rebuild one carb and with out replacing the diaphragm your looking at about $350 bucks, and there is 2 of these carbies on the bike. yay!!! fun times! thats a insane price by my standards.so i will continue my quest to find someone , somewhere with the parts at a half way reasonable price. i cant wait till i turn 40 in 2 years time. i have already put my order in with my wife , i want a sherline lathe and miller package and i will just make what ever the hell i like myself http://sherline.com.au/Sherline%20Lathe%20&%20Mill%20Machine%20Package%20Information.htm
i think this is what you will need for a full rebuild of *one* bsw27 carburettor 2 x needle holder - 13511-38400 2 x needle jet - 13383-24D00 (5D52-3) 2 x emulsion tube - 09494-00707 - jet needle (o-1) 2 x 13279-47080 - pilot screw 2 x 13268-47070 - pilot screw spring 1 x 13250-43410 - float 2x 09492-30010 - jet pilot (30) 2 x 09491-90007 - jet main (90) 1x 13370-24D00 - needle valve assy 1 x 13151-05c00 - gasket float bowl as for the gasket, you can live with out it if you have a product called "permatex permashield" http://www.permatex.com/products/Automotive/automotive_gasketing/gasket_makers/permatex_permashield_fuel_resistant_gasket_dressing_flange_sealant.htm this is probably a bit over the top, but i have no doubt it will make it like new. the only thing i didnt add was the diaphragm, its part number is 13500-34A00
next time someone pulls their bsw27 apart, can you please do me a favour and grab a vernier and measure the needle please just as it shows in these diagrams, thanks this will absolutely help in trying to cross reference them, thanks
