Pitch it in the bin, scrap it, bin it, tell him to stick his nasty broken clutch basket where the sun don't shine ...

You could perhaps phrase it rather more ... constructively ...

Done! Hey, this 'mod' thing can come in handy sometimes...

well i finally got my part and have put the beast back together again but now Ive run into another problem. . . . . nothing can go smoothly can it.
the clutch lever and cable are completely slack. there's no tension when you squeeze it at all. its like its not even connected.
when i changed the pressure plate i swapped over that little thing right in the middle of it (pic1 and 4). well it came out when i first took the old pressure plate off. the o ring on it was pretty worn so i replaced that. im petty sure that has to be it cos Ive touched nothing else.
got any helpful ideas anyone. know what it is and how it works would be nice.

Re: Replacing clutch plates - Basket Advice

Great help this guide and currently in process of replacing plates etc. One of the dogs on the basket is shorter then the others and I can see it is about the same as in the pictorial you guys presented. Is this by design or just a common fault. Last basket I worked on all dogs were even (old IT).
Thanks
Peter
