Re-sealed my sump for the 2ND time in two weeks

Same with this one. Non-OEM and it tore and leaked at the rear of the sump.

I actually just used a liquid gasket this time. Permatex Right-Stuff Grey, 5 minute cure time and OE approved for many Japanese manufacturers.

So that fcker shouldn't leak ever again

Mate couldnt agree more bugger buying the gasket.................. make it, I normally use the red permatex hitemp stuff

 

I myself have been getting the fzr dressed, she has not had her outfit on for some time now but I am not quite complete with the coverings as I have been connecting everything up at the same time so I can just hit the starter when I need to move it. I have had to postpone the strip down and rebuild due to having to relocate so I am getting it back together and in a day or 2 I will have some fresh pics up to show her off in her cloths lol

 

Chased down a jet for my MC22. Picked up some o-ring and 4 bolts to plug up the vacuum ports. Got the carb back together, but now I'm scratched my head. The reason why I replaced the jet is it was longer than the rest, and I suspect why my bike was unhappy after I put it back together.

Do I need to resync the carb (no, I did not take them apart but I think the wrong jet will screw up the vacuum) or do I just need to re-tune it?

 

Pulled the mud guard off the other day to paint it and found the mounting bracket had 2 broken mounting tabs. So had to make a new one

 

If you got new bolts to plug the vacuum ports, does that mean they were leaking before? If so, resync will correct it. If the sync is done right, it won't just be tested at idle, but revved as well, this might show an issue like air leak. Good luck.

 

Trying to finish my project bike, discovered the front wheel is bent.
It's been a long project, and I still have paint and final assembly to go. After fixing/replacing the wheel. I just hope the frame is not bent, too.

 

Replaced the crappy smoked LED indicators with the standard ones... sure they stick out a bit, but you can actually see them.

How many times do you see these tiny led's on bikes that struggle to indicate your heading?
I think for once....bigger is better

 

Finished the LHS repairs on the step sons 250R, hopefully sold the SV and organised a new muffler for the FZ6. Cheers for the heads up on the Delkevic exhaust @kiffsta

 

Slowly starting to look like a FZR

 

Bike is ready for roady, Have ordered new mufflers but hopefully will pass without them. Had to fix a leaky fuel petcock and fix my headlight wiring. Hopefully I'll get that all done before he comes this arvo.

 

Finally received my new clutch kit! Full fibres/steels/springs in the form of an EBC SRK clutch kit!
Hopefully this will solve my clutch issues
The only question I have now is what oil do I run? I've been having success with Castrol 15w-50 mineral but I would prefer a similar grade in Semi-Synthetic
Anyone know a good brand? Penrite have discontinued their Semi-Syn version and only supply the full syn
