Sold the 650. Had parts turn for the pw50, and fitted the seats and needles to the ZXR carbies. Think I found out why the carbies might have been leaking...

Been thinking about a twin shock trials bike , Has to be a 1974 like me :)

last week I spotted a 1974 Montessa enduro in Brisbane , but I said no more projects until the gt380 is done.

Anyway, this morning I sent a message a customer to say his vapour blasting is ready , he texts me back and asks if I want a montessa , he send me Pics , it is the same bike, He had 4 people call to inspect and all 4 well re no shows.
He wouldn’t take any money for it , so it is now in the shed.
I’d love to rebuild this one down the track , it is a 1974 montessa enduro 54m.
Im sure it will break the bank , But how bloody cool is this ?

That looks more like a Scorpian MX bike. The enduro had a bigger tank and different rear frame rail from memory (don't trust memory, it could be wrong). Be nice to see it restored and riding.
Still not your twin shock trials. Look for a Cota.

I did some jobs on the VTR: swapped the rear brakes, rear indicators installed, cleaned the bike and went to change spark plugs. Went to change from 9s back to 8s (I changed the front a few days ago, but ran out of time) when I checked the front plug, it was white on the core. So back to the old 9s (from a ZXR I did a couple of years ago). Better too cold than too hot.

My camera sucks, but you can see the 8 between the 9s

It's a cheap phone, I'm not pay $2k+ for an iPhone just for the odd photo I want to take. I don't spend that much on a bike! Well, not in the initial purchase, at least...

I use C-Mobile for my business remote SMS/data needs. They may have a plan for you.
They start at $5/month. get for occassional/emergency use. not good for heavy data users.

So much phone-shame... But given in the form of helpful advice! I wouldn't buy my secondhand phone, so I guess that makes me cautious of buying someone else's secondhand phone... I might be forced to decide soon, the buttons are not working so well on this one these days

Find a yuppie and tell them they need to update their phone as it is a week old, then grab their old one.

Impact driver with an alley key socket - might need a torx bit, now. Hit the torx socket into the bolt head (don't be gentle, set it firmly and compressing the casing material can take some weight off it - you will break the driver bit if you don't set it in place firm enough, so set it up to hit it hard and well), then once the socket is set in the bolt well enough, put the impact driver on the socket, turn to undo and hit it hard. Don't be soft! Don't balance the job or rest it on another area of the case, make sure you have something solid under the bolt. Good luck.

Bought a full harness and all electrics off of an A model to fit into my C model with A motor . Hopefully it will end the two year escapade of not having my bike running

Another option is to drill the head off the bolt, then you'll have room to access the stud left behind with that part removed.

I finally swapped the carbies on the ZXR last night. I went to synchronise the carbs, but it was late and the adjusters are in an awful spot, so close enough is good enough for me. I did a coolant change, it only had water in the system. Next is an oil change. I think the VTR needs a service, too.

Dont hold your breath ... I think everything , including parcels, from China is held up due to the beer virus and flight suspensions
