Got a new chain for the bike, went to break it to get it at the proper length. Double checked and triple checked that I was only taking off 10 links. Marked it with a permanent pen. Ground the head off, put the breaker on and then flipped the chain around as I had it pushing the peened head through instead of the ground one.

Pin pops out, turn the 'wasted' section over and instantly notice that I've cut it down 1 link too short *sigh*. Feeling kinda stupid right now haha.

Back to the bike store to pick up another master link.

Today I painted the revamped exhaust, still not 100% happy but it will do for now.
Installed the new pod filters that were delivered yesterday.
Re-installing the exhaust will have to wait till I can get hold of some gaskets.
If I can do one thing a day I'm making progress

Its a mid eighties Suzuki GS550 (in-line 4) , I just got her home, she is running on 3 and I think some fresh plugs and oil and plug leads should see her good. I'm not posting my purchase price as I intend on moving her on or I will fit this engine to Yongs bike

Not sure if this is the place for parts but I've just rebuilt the carbies off a 3LN with the Lite Tek kit & I've broken the hollow bolt that holds down the jet block.
I now know they are pretty fragile but too late.
    Can anyone sell me one?
I was going to specialized wholesale to see if they have a bolt that I could drill out, the head is the problem but I could just shim it up with washers to get the depth.
    But that's all bodgey.
She was going to be back on the road on the weekend but thats not looking good now.
    I'm in Newcastle.

Well, got it back together & no better than before, I thought for sure I had found the issue in the carbs.
Revs up low to about 7 - 8k nice & clean then just seems to be out of fuel, struggles to go any higher. The 2 large tubes with the plastic valves aren't connected to anything & wondering if they are the problem now & also the 2 thin tubes which should just be bowl overflow. The carbs are perfect so it's nothing in them. I thought I read someone saying they are vacuum tubes ?? She came like this & I can't find any diagrams to piece it back together.
Fitted a fuel pump as well but that hasn't changed anything
    Help ?
