Heres some ideas for our next weekend away ..... Ive used recommended bike friendly destinations and the usual 'halfway' distance between our NSW and QLD starting points

    https://www.2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/motorcycle-friendly-accommodation.9211/#post-96938

No specific dates as yet but PLENTY of time to plan ahead with no excuses that 'Im busy' , 'my bikes not ready' , 'its my great Aunts birthday', 'I have to work a double shift'

Make the effort .... if @Frankster can make it to Drake from Melbourne via Brisbane then anything is possible .... get off your arse and come riding ..... and we offer free sleepovers in Tamworth if needed.
New members , new riders ... everyone is welcome

I stayed at the motel 5 in south Grafton last time through there. Was clean and quiet, and the food good too.
Another one I thought of was the Maclean Hotel about 35Km north of Grafton.
The Crown Hotel is in a nice spot, but was bloody noisey last time there.
    Emmaville should be fun.
    Ulmarra sounds nice too.
I'd be happy at any that has comfy beds, beer and a good feed.

I stopped in Ulmarra last Sunday on my way to my daughters and could't get near the place as a hot rod/car club had the streets full of cars, and on way home was not open (too early in morning) for me to get a look.

I vote Riders Rest or Motel 5, but they all look good.
(Not really a helpful comment I know).

Any rough dates so we can start planning and make sure nothing is on? September sometime?

Hmm. It's little further from here (and a lot colder than here, we barely go lower than 16), but I'd be interested. However, my weekends are filling up with work. I should have the zx2r on the road by then, but if not, there's the VTR250 or even the DR350..

As for venues, I'm the sort of guy that rolls a swag out on the ground and eats cheap food, so I'm easy - I'm a non-drinker and non-smoker so quiet and spacious sounds good.

I'm thinking 23/24 September might be good. Weekend before the long weekend and school holidays in NSW.

Can we do it before school holidays, not during? Say the week before on 16/17th?

16/17th is good for me. Riders Rest has the most votes at the moment?

    Just checked on some bookings.
The Ulmarra is booked out for the 16th.
The Crown hotel in Grafton is showing no rooms available.
Motel 5 has 7 rooms available, one is a three bedroom unit (I'd be happy there).
Emmaville or Riders rest will have to be contacted by phone.
If we decide on Grafton we could meet the Queenslanders at Glen Innes and ride down the mountain to Grafton together (like we did before the other way), and we home through Ebor/Armidale while the QLDs back to casino and either Lions road or Highway.

Ive refrained from commenting so far as my riding capabilities are unknown at present ... I havnt touched the bike since Drake

I stuffed my right arm splitting firewood and its not recovered much as yet ... working on Land Cruisers and off road camper trailers hasnt helped either .... but thats life in the fast lane

Id like to do the GI to Grafton road again but the Riders Rest sounds like a hoot ... even if you have to trip over discarded Harley parts and sweaty bandanas and all the "Live to Ride - Ride to Live" signs
