Today is a big day for me,
Being that I had my heart set on getting a RR right after riding a zxr250 and feeling the rake I HAD to get something similar.
I applied for a 3k loan with my bank then went on the hunt, must have visited like 4 bikes and then finally "the one". It was a pretty much perfect nick repsol 1991 mc22 that recently had the front forks rebuilt, new sprockets and chain, roo racing muffler and everything just felt right...
So i took it for a quick spin to check the power, **** my self and realized how slow my across was (probably due to maintenance). This thing had around 30 thousand on the odo and yeah it was mint!!!
I said to the guy, ILL TAKE IT! he took the add down and the next day my loan got rejected...
Typical the universe didn't want me to be happy.
I said to the guy *sigh* put the add back up my loan got rejected.
Then he said if I hold it for you how long will it take u to save up?
    I was like a monthish.
He was like put down a deposit and ill hold it for you. So... I did!

And now the BIG day has finally come... Today is the day i give him 3 grand and he drops the bike to me, I can't express how fkn excited I am!!!
And of course, it starts pissing down with rain..... *sigh*. The rain is not going to stop me from riding this thing hahaha.

    Photos soon.

Yeah def needs a break upgrade... I almost ran into someone's ass, she ain't pulling up fast enough.
All the power is there though, raced me mates new cbr500r and when he had to change gears in first mine hit power band and took off.
My only other complain would be that the bike makes you feel like your going slower than you actually are.

Generally Honda brakes are pretty good, how are the pads and disks ? You can get them in Sydney from Xcitebikes

    Sintered Pads - http://www.xcitebikes.com.au/30-037-s/

    Disks and Pads - http://www.xcitebikes.com.au/21-007-b-set/

Might pay to flush your brake fluid , how is the lever feel ?

Lever feels tight and it's not providing much feedback. Feels like it would be easy to lock up.
The pads look like there's a fair bit left to them about half a cm all around. Disks aren't rusty or anything but yeah for such a light bike I know it could pull up heaps better than that.
I'll get the disks and pads and do a flush as recommended because ATM this thing is gonna bite me.

When u dont know the past history (dont believe anything you have been told) its best to replace the brake fluid and the pads .... cheap and easy to do .... also to clean up the calipers before compressing in the pistons for the new pads.
If the discs are still within spec then just clean the glaze off them with a steel soap pad , which has probably never been done.

I know I should just google it but how do I know if the discs are in spec?
I went for a quick ride just then to check the breaks, they aren't as bad as I first thought. Maybe I was going heaps fast and didn't know.
But to be sure we will do a clean, flush and pad change.
If discs are in spec I might just do u as u say grey and clean them.

^^^ Give em a clean, some oil could have been spilt and burnt in making the disc slippery

If u have a Bursons near u get their own brake fluid .... its blue so its great for flushing and seeing the condition of your fluid
