    On the disk should be 3.5 mm lowest but check for groves mine felt fine but didn't stop great flush fluid makes big difference

    Also correct technique helps for braking.
    Are you making sure to use both front and rear?

    The only time I use the rear brake is to lock the wheel when removing or fitting the clutch basket :D

    I use the engine to brake the back wheel, and front breaks always! They are great!

    my bad, I was totally wrong.

    She just past her P's test without a mistake and has a track day booked in on the 30th, I'm not even in the same league as her.

    3.5 mm Ill check that today, when i looked yesterday the very edges felt like a different width to the inside of the disk. Could be deceptive? Maybe I need to rub them down to the same width?

    U won't rub down to same mate u can machine them but not worth when u get new pads u should get discs other wise pads will wear into old discs

    Bikes have rear brakes???
    My Z1000 has 56K km's on it & still has the factory pads on the rear!
    Been through 3 sets of fronts though! :D

    90% front, 10% back - typical braking pattern. Backs should last almost 10 times longer!
