Hi everyone,
After an FZR for my first bike. I seem to miss them by a couple of days or a week so I thought id see if anyone has one there trying to sell to a good home. Wanting to keep it under the $3400 bracket. Im in the Melbourne area but would travell further around Victoria. Hope someone can help me as I am dying to get out there and give my friend with a cbr250 some competition .

defenatley try Bruce from Yamwreck

He has an FZR250 3LN-3... horrible fiberglass fairings with a shoking paint work... but it works and it just might make your budget just.. (I think he wants $3500 for it)

Sounds pretty full on for $3500. I mean how much would it cost ot get road worth. Not to mention the replacment fairings if there a mess. And all the mechanices to go along with it. I thought 3500 would be an alright price for an FZR from what ive read on this web site. I mean if im expecting to much for that price let me know. I dont need to have the prettyest bike but i thought i could get one in fairly decent condition.

If this msg sounds a bit irretated i apologize. I missed out on another bike today and I had everything ready to go to get it.

So ill take your advice and go have a look at this place. You never know.

I just want a bike really bad

if you were buying a FZR250 during winter... June especialy I would be saying $2500 to $3000 would be a good price to pay... Summer?? lol add $500 to $1000 any bike!!

I have a CBX250 for sale.. $2000 with RWC no reg (which is only another $350 or so) it is a perfect summer sale price... I'm not even advertising it in the tradin post coz I know it will be a waste of $50... I know some one will buy it just coz they hear about it down the gripe vine... if it was winter I would be advertising it in the trading post and asking $1500 with reg and RWC... not now... it's sellers market!!

I'm sorry Rach_86.
I remember how badly i wanted a bike when i first started riding and i missed out on a couple of bargains; but eventually the right bike will come along and you'll get it. Just unfortunate that there was someone just as keen as you but got there that little bit earlier.

Even though we are hitting summer, 3,500 is the top price id pay for a 2kr FZR. 3ln in good condition your probably looking at more like 4,000.

Bruce's bikes will usually come fully road-worthy. THe only other costs you would have is updating the fairing paint job if you wanted (or replacement fairings).

I hope you are also factoring ~750-1000 for gear too in your budget!

damn, if you posted this in another month or two i would have the bike for you. 2kr with EXUP, absolutely tip top shape, had it regularly serviced (with records), oil changes every 4000km, new rear tyre, chain and sprockets, 24000km - this bike has done everything i've asked of it. The engine is a beauty.
(ah i'm just practising for the when "the time comes" )
Can u wait???

LOL, thats just evil.

Why 1 or 2 months. And how much are you asking for it.

I was hoping to go see about this 3ln with this Bruce guy. And if that dosnt go to plan ill just have to wait unless a bike magicly apears. So dont count me out just yet.

To be honest I dont like the look of it. I could always buy a CBR but I really had my heart set on an FZR.

Oh well I guess I can wait a little longer and see if an FZR apears. If not I shall have to go the CBR.

A real locally delivered CBR RR with 19,000km's on the clock is like finding a needle in a haystack! I've been nosey and had a good look at this bike - extremely good condition mechanically from what i've seen of it in TBone's garage. When it's all finished, it will be one of the neatest if not THE neatest (if not then definitely one of the hottest!) CBR250RR's on the road.

I'd definitely have had my eye on it if only CBR-RR's fit me without giving me shoulder and back pain. Being the tall lad i am, the seating position and bars just don't agree with me.

IMHO Rach, just keep looking around for FZR's. I know of a few up in Sydney & Brisbane that are looking for a good home - and freight is only a couple of hundred $$$ to Melbourne. Go check out http://www.twofifty.cc and have a look in that For Sale forum incase you haven't already.

Good luck finding a ride - and remember i know your frustration as at the moment i'm without wheels aswell! (... and Grendal's off the road... and a few other's aren't too well either). We know how it feels.

Yea good advice Koma,
The only problem I have with that is that Im not 100% sure what Im getting because I can not go and physicaly check the bike myself or even test ride it. And that worrys me for my first bike. Its not that Im picky but I sure as hell dont want to get ripped for my first bike.

Any advice in this situation??
