Wanted in USA, I was planning to travel to get all my parts I need but my country is the fulla the goddamn dumbest sumbitches on earth it turns out and y'all said I can't come play as a result, so I'm stuck in this dystopian waiting room until forever.

So, with that in mind- can someone ship me a wiring harness to enable Step 1 of my plan for global quarter-liter/re domination?

Lemme know, please please please. :)

Your sumbitches have nothing on ours in Victoria. We now hold the World record for the population who has been in lockdown the longest (and we're still going)! Best bet for a ZXR wiring loom is @kiffsta so I'm sure he'll jump on here soon. They also occasionally show up on eBay (Australia) and I guess some people would ship to you. Seahawks are doing well.

I've been working from home since March 2- mostly because we can't seem to get people to shut up and stay at home so this'll just be over. I'd imagine it's much the same for you- good luck getting past it!

Kiffsta and I have worked together a couple times- int'l shipping seems to be not worth his effort/time to organize (and that's cool, I get it). We tried to work a fender/marker deal out when I dropped the bike a year or so back, and when this build started we coordinated on a couple engines, but he went dark on me which is why I'm reevaluating my plans to not need spare engines right now. :)

Since I'm looking to fire the CDI box, and all the associated stuff that doesn't work with my standalone, I'd rather not ruin good wiring to enable my shenanigans... but I'd like to keep the wiring for gauges, etc etc instead of just cutting all sorts of stuff out and never having it fit the bike correctly again. :) I'll keep an eye on eBay, but I was hoping to keep the money local to this group.

As sports go, it's been a stellar year for Seattle sports ball! The Sounders in first place in conference and aiming for the Cup again, the Storm just took the WNBA title, and the Seahawks are cleaning HOUSE this year, plus we just started season ticket sales for our new hockey team, the Kraken coming soon. We won't talk about the Mariners, 'cause they're doing their usual. It's probably for the best, a winning baseball team in this city would be a harbinger of an actual apocalypse! That said, sports are about the only shining light this year as we start coming into the dark and dreary months up here. :)

Sorry for not being up to date with your build, but can you quickly tell me what your issues are and what you're working with?

Sending you a loom shouldn't be a big issue, so let me know if you find one on eBay Australia and want it, but the seller won't send it to you. I'm sure we can work something out. As for sending you an entire engine, that might be a bit too much to hope for. The site maelstrom mentioned (jauce) is used by plenty of us here in Oz when we need something that's not available locally. I find it's best to order a lot of stuff rather than just one item, but that's just me. Cheers

I will have a loom for a C model (if there is any difference), but like Frank said, @kiffsta may have had international shipping issues with something as large as an engine because it would have to go into a container, be unpacked and redistributed in the USA. A loom can go in post.

The A and C looms are different Shane.

Good lookin' out on the jauce link! I'll keep those in mind in the future!

The build is... well it's an adventure. Im going land speed racing. The record is softer (read: lower and easier to take) in blown fuel modified than it is elsewhere. So the plan was to turbo charge, fuel inject and e85 the bike. Unfortunately COVID has made it tough to get the spare motor to tear down and lower compression on either thru machining pistons or stacking gaskets. Also, I like my bike and don't want to murder it, so I wanna keep as many spare parts as I can.

Since this whole thing DOES keep going on though, I'm going to chase the higher record this year, without the turbo. Since the Density Altitude of Bonneville is ridiculous (I was seeing 7500ft DA last year spectating) I don't wanna even fight carburetor tuning. So I'm going to make an intake manifold and fuel inject the bike. Single 56mm TB will give me the same amount of air as 4 28mm carbs along with a half a set of stock takeoff LS injectors I have kicking around, and a 36-1 wheel to run the timing off of gets me the spark side of things with a set of Ninja 300 pencil coils. I'll have to chase a higher record, but damnit I wanna go fast!

As part of the "don't murder the bike" initiative, I don't wanna cut up my wiring harness- I want to modify another one to make this happen. These bikes are disposable for you guys damn near- but not so much for me... so I gotta make sure I don't set myself up to not be able to go back.

Oh, I'm sure he did. Even aside from the cost, there was a hell of an effort to set all that up. I don't fault him in the least. I was willing to pay the cost, plus his time- but too much is too much.

I actually need a C model harness though, so if you've got one, and are willing to post it to me- we can make something happen here! How much money do you want, shipping inclusive to post code 98056, Renton WA USA?

I better dig it out and make sure she looks ok, first.

Lemme know what you find. It doesn't have to be perfect, I really just need the lighting, gauge, timing trigger, battery, and starter circuits... I think. Even then, I'm mostly after the connectors at the ends. :)

im getting rid of CDI, so if that's not there, that's fine.

Good to hear. I'll be keen to see how you go with your turbo setup. @Murdo is building a Turbo ZXR250 motor for a salt bike. He's gone old school with an SU carb. Story is here if you're interested. Starts about half way through page 2.

Most of my stuff is ZXR250A as that's what I race at the drags and on the salt. I do have a ZXR250C loom, but it's earmarked for a project I'm planning for early 2021. I think @ShaneP has one, so that should get you out of trouble.

I've been to Bonneville and to the local salt here in Australia (Lake Gairdner). A few of the members on this forum have raced and have records in a few 250 and smaller capacity classes. A bit like you, going for the normal (Stock) 250 record here is out of reach unless you're on a hopped-up 2-stroke. I think the current record is 133mph. I had a bit of a run in 2019 to see what to expect when competing on the salt. Eye-opener, but fun. This year was called off due to Covid, but 2021 has been announced.
