Took the chain off my XL250s after yesterdays dirt 'exercise' ready to wash and regrease in the Duckham's tin when I found this. Lucky it was only one roller, so got another link from the excess chain I had to cut off when I fitted this one, and riveted in. In the tin on the stove and when cool back on the bike for another 1,000km.
I have been looking for a decent Master Cylinder for the SRX and came across a nice one from a 2010 FZ8 with the 2 Monoblock Gold Spot calipers... They are a 100mm bolt centre Axial mount which will require an offset adapter plate... Not 100% sure if I will go with the calipers yet but they are all on their way..
Today was a bitsa day... I sorted out the SRX Headers and then took the Matching Numbers SRX250 engine off the engine stand, put it in a crate and onto the shelf... then swapped the CB400 from the house garage to the workshop and re-housed the Spada to the House garage.. The Postie bike will go there as well once I do the chain and sprockets etc. Plenty more to do tomorrow.. still re-sorting the workshop.. putting up some shelves etc.. always something to do.
Worked on my trials bike after the last bout of 'exercising'. Had to straighten the front guard brackets and gear lever, 'stitch' the split rear guard with some zip ties, fitted a seatbelt webbing strap behind the seat to help with lifting in difficult spots and made some wider footpegs as I found the originals were hurting my instep when standing up.
I serviced and test rode a new Yamaha MT-09 SP at work this week (1000km service), I was very impressed. Spoke with the owner about where and for how much, and I have to say it's a really good deal for what you get with the bike. Seriously considering taking the plunge and buying my first brand new bike.
Cant go wrong there .... ugly but then all those goggle eye bikes are to me Im sure you have ridden a few 'newer' bikes but getting on something 'new' is always going to impress after riding all our old shitboxes for years Have u ridden a speed triple?
Not yet but I have ridden some of the street triples, if I wanted to replace the R6 it would be a street triple, but they're still fetching high prices, too high for my liking
