Swapped the headlight covers and batteries out between Jack and Sylvie as I've booked a rego inspection for Sylvie tomorrow.

Also stuffed some foam rubber in the broken meter housing and taped it down to reduce wobble until the replacement covers arrive.

More details in the build thread for Sylvie!

I think I did my first @kiffsta deal!

Picked up a 1998 ZZR250 just under 28,000kms on the clock for $500.
Doesn't need much for roadworthy either. Some tyres, rear brake pads, headlight bulb, choke cable and fork seals.

Has been sitting in a shed for 6 years so needs a major service as well but it starts and runs.

Just a toy to play with at the moment, haven't had a project for a while now. I'm still riding the CBR600F daily. I'll get this one fixed up and then see if I sell it on or ride it around for a while.

I'll do up a project thread for it to keep track of everything.

I was hoping to TA200 (Honda Shadow/Phantom) today, but not quite - thanks to @kiffsta on this.
Finally fired it up for the first time today, it had cooked a piston to the cylinder, so slowly went through a top end rebuild. There are a couple of missing parts, but it'll get by, just had the high beam switch and front brakes to do - speaking of which:

There's a good reason to change the brake fluid regularly. Having troubles bleeding it. So hopefully I will get it done before work tomorrow.

Can't believe I have 5 running bikes at the same time. This be number 3 for sale.

After my failed attempt at going on a motorcycle camping trip over New Years dies to a flat tyre I repaired the tube and re installed the tyre, sadly all my pictures are to large to post here so I can show you while on my phone

It's 35° C here today in the shade, or 39.1° C under my back verandah where i'm working atm.
I'm fitting the new Litetek front sprocket and a new DID 428HD chain to my FZR, will see how well it hold's out till i can afford a better chain.
    I'm taking some pic's for @maelstrom too

Prepare for some more hot weather in the eastern state's in the next few day's.

    Bring it on..... :)
Just finished bleeding the front brake on the VTR... its easy when you leave it overnight and let the air gently rise to the top :)

Well I managed to sort out fuel lines and get it all together so I could give it a really good run.
Nope, didn't take it on the road, no license, no Rego, no insurance, no helmet and not that silly these days
    Wouldn't be a problem where @2valve lives.
Warmed her up and gave it a couple of nice revs.
Too freakin loud I must be getting old.

I ran over a screw last weekend. My girlfriend got a bike so I had stopped a few times on the shoulder while she caught up / got stuck at traffic lights. Fortunately this screw didn't pierce the tyre so I could ride home but did leave a gouge about an inch long in the centre of the tyre. And i don't have the time to take the bike in so I'm just taking the wheels in on my way to work. Thought I'd think about new dirt bike tyres too (Depending on the deal they have, may just get tyres elsewhere for the CR).

Got a day permit and rode Sylvie the long way to a roadworthy check. She passed first go! Next up is rego and a new battery...

Tis the season for fixing bikes. The Shadow is a goer, gave it a test ride, just needs a couple of bulbs for the speedo and maybe tighten the chain. 3 bikes for sale now, just need buyers, not a good time of year. 1 bike to race prep, 2 to fix up, 1 to rebuild and tune for speed racing (maybe), and 2 to collect and pay for. Oh, and there's 2 quads... I need to stop.

Sylvie passed the rego inspection and Jack's chain is urgently in need of replacing. Jack's owner loaned me the money for Sylvie's rego and "acted as my agent" (with my written permission on the appropriate form) to get her legally on the road. He's dropping the papers and plate off at my place while I'm at work :)

Damn straight! I owe him big time - might be able to help him out with a job though as we're in the same industry and my company needs more experienced people.

Walked into the shed and looked at the Phaser, experienced the heat, walked back in the house and cracked open a cold drink.

    Hard work that was...
