Yes definately ..... Ive searched for something other than chrome .... trouble is finding it in the right size .... and cheap of course. Ive got a set coming from Hong Kong that I may attempt to paint the chrome parts gold ..... or even black would look ok. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/271114091738?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2648
Just looking at these for the pub racer ...... are there any bikes that have a setup like this as standard? ..... are they even 'legal' ? I like the idea of no seperate indicators. http://www.thirdgear.com.au/products/Clear-LED-Rear-Tail-Light-and-Indicator.htm
I'm no expert on the legalities of what's legal and what's not, do know that there are measurements that need to be applied for indicators on motorcycles. It would be my understanding that the above cluster would not be considered legal here in Australia. Laws in other countries are far more lenient than ours.
Thats what I was thinking also .... but its an Oz company selling them. You would think with our zillion laws and rules they would have to stipulate if they wernt road legal here.
Elementary my dear Grey, you pass a roadworthy with standard fittings on your bike, when you get home you simply swap. You then hope you don't get pulled over and if you do trust they don't notice the changes. This happens all the time.
Good score Mr Grey, you could sell the spare on to the other bloke doing a cafe job. I saw a great seat loop made for one of these bikes, at least I think it was one of these. But I can't find it now. The owner had fitted a seat like yours and the loop was a perfect match.
Yea Im sure the second one will be 4 sale here eventually. The main changes to the frame will be of course to the rear end so now I can model the changes to suit the seat cowl. I will get a tank something like this to fit into the scheme of things
Its from here .... a blue with white stripe isnt exactly listed so Im not sure..... that would be great if something bolted straight on .... Im not a fan of the original tank and mine is junk anyway. http://auction.netbikes.com.au/item.php?id=6364
Mr Grey, Some ideas. When you get that seat loop cut off and replaced with a circular one. Fit some rearset mounts by just welding a threaded lug to the frame. In the picture of the Ducati you can see the pillion peg support is the style of thing you need; of course the tubes will not be that long on the Suzuki. Also is a pic of the Suzuki, I would go for the straight tubing. A friend of mine in Brisbane had clip-on recesses fitted into his fuel tank by some talented panel beater. You might be able to add some unique style to yours too if you can find some talented panel beater who has a dolly and a hammer. cheers Blair
Will be interested to see how Dave H sets his up ..... http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/another-gsx-250-caferacer.1832/#post-15142 No matter how much people malign it, its still my main/first source when researching something and alot of the time buying it.
How's it going over christmas Grey?I got my seat too, how are you going to mount it to the frame? I was thinking a piece of alu cut to size that I could get some clips made, and the nit would double as a space to hide the electronics too.
Hey Ben Not sure wat Im going to do with the seat re attachment .... I guess when I have the 'new' tank and can position it and the seat the best way and hack the rear end , Ill see what tabs and such are there that can be used. I also would like to hide what I can under the seat and shove as much as possible up inside the hump. Heres some photos Dave H sent me showing how his seat is attached (thanx Dave)
