    hey guys, im new here.

Just come back from Brisbane after inspecting and test riding a zxr, big success!

for a bike that's built in 88 its still in great shape, only dislikes are generally cosmetics such as light spots of rust and corrosion (from the bike living in a shed near the beach). and the gear lever seal looks like its gone hard and leaking a tad. Exhaust manifold is particularly rusted but appears to be salvageable with a good wire brush polish and a chrome dip. - no telltale white smoke from engine or off-sounds from a rust hole. happy.

but she idles without missing a beat and is flawless mechanically throughout all gears and rev range.

slapped down a $100 deposit and im going to bring her home in a couple of days =)

Thanks guys =) - hey got a question about my purchase regarding Roadworthy/rego xferr,

    - will i need to take the bike in to get the 'Mod plate" signed off and sorted by a Engineer... anything i need to know about when it comes to roadworthy and rego on these particular bikes? is the 'mod plate' any issue for me if the bikes previously registered etc?

    hey cal,

If you want it registered as a single seater, then you will need to remove the rear seat and fibre glass it up, you will also need to remove the rear pegs and drill out the thread on the screws so they cant be put back on ( easily)

Send a PM to the Th3 Huntsman, he just did his and he can tell you how he went. Hurry up and get it on the road, we have a ride coming up soon - http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/mount-tamborine-or-cunungra-ride.1461/#post-9675

    Cheers

When u give it a "service" , if it hasnt been used much of late (and u can never tell what the past maintenance schedule has been) then I would replace the fork oil , the brake fluid and the coolant apart from the obvious engine oil and filter.
Drain out the fuel and replace the fuel filter.
Check the brake pads and if u fit new ones ,clean the rotors (deglazing).
Look at the tyres and check the manufacture date and make sure they arnt too old and arnt cracked and crazed ...... click here > Tyre Information
Check the chain adjustment and lube it...... and look to see if the sprockets need replacing.

    cheers a bunch grey,

might also need to change the brake lines, i think the salty air has made them weak and causing the lines to bulge under braking pressure.... still will be ok for roadworthy, but is there any good aftermarket braided brake lines available?

    - thanks for reminding me about fork oil, i was probably going to overlook it hahah.

    - also, you guys know any good sellers for 303 oil filters and fuel filters?
