    Suzuki GT250X7 Kawasaki ZZR600
Last Thursday I travelled down to Brisbane on the Bandit, had some business to attend to and then I would head to Chris's place.
Get a call from Chris asking when I was coming down........I'm here!! He gives me a list of things we need to work on the new CBR400.....no worries, leave it with me. The real reason for my trip to Brisbane was to get my ZZR600 registered.
Whilst collecting all the stuff Chris requested I made an appointment for the following morning to get "my roadworthy"

Friday got the Kawasaki registered, what a magic moment at last to ride this beautiful bike. Chris had given me a "heads up" that morning about taking it easy with brand new tires, with that in mind I rode around some and got a better feel for the bike.

Saturday afternoon, after getting the CBR400RR sorted and running so very well, was time for me to head home. The bike was a little hesitant in the lower rev range....but reach 3500rpm and things start happening at a rapid rate of knots. Found the riding position to be excellent, performance is great but fuel economy ????? she is a little thirsty!

Monday and Tuesday I rode around some and found the gear change to be......chunky, clunky and not selecting that well?

This morning I found a zzr600 forum and had a look in. There was a posting pertaining to clunky changes and said it went away when chain was adjusted correctly.....interesting but mine was fine I'm sure.
Went to the garage to ascertain the status of my chain......Shock horror...wheel nut finger tight....chain dangling loose....no split pin on the wheel nut, and so on. So I sorted the tension issue, measured with verniers to make sure I was dead centre, and fitted a split pin onto the wheel nut. Mission accomplished and time for a test ride....change is smooth as and no hesitation going into any gear, happy :D
    It's hard to believe that it's a 17 year old motorcycle......love it :thumb_ups:

    Bought the fucker-

'78, Z50j1 ADR Compliance plate, matching numbers, one owner, low km, key, unlic, indicators missing, Small tank dent, taillight broken, deceased estate, not used since the 1980's when kids grew up,
This particular model and colour is my holy grail of Z50's,
as true a Barn Find as you'd ever get.

2nd dream bike (3rd if the MC22 is counted) all within 2 months, but this one will be my roadie-

I've just read your post....laughing out loud ...literary.
Just finished locking and loading as you young blokes say...looking forward to finally exercising some demons and getting back to racing.
Bit if a late scare...no neutral light and no Xmas tree...bit of fiddling in the dark found a blow fuse...anyway fixed and ready for 4 am alarm.
