As Linkin pointed out, it appears someone has fitted a 520 kit. Therefore the drive sprocket has to have less teeth or its diameter would be too large to fit. Then to maintain a close to standard ratio the rear sprocket also needs less teeth.
    43/13 is 3.30:1 (520 kit)
    56/17 is 3.29:1 (standard)
    So they are quite close.
If you take a look at the countershaft (drive shaft) and compare to these pics you will know if it has a later model shaft.

Ahh ... yes of course .... filter is internal on the 3LN1 only! .... your new sprocket should be ok then

    The chain guide?

There's a couple of locations that the engine number can be, but based on the frame number, you have a 3LN1. Does it have the dual round headlights? Blocky rear brake light?

    Anyway, potential engine number locations:

On the left of the clutch cover, underneath fuel tank

Hiding behind the exhaust headers in front of the stator

As you've stated it has an internal oil filter, it's definitely a 3LN1 engine. So your front sprocket will fit fine.

Blank engine numbers are what new engine cases come with. As in "Oh my rods just poked a big hole in my cases. I better pop down to my local Yamaha dealer and order some new ones".

Oh ya I forgot ive been a bit bold today even with my knackered chain I went riding not too far but I did go a bit flat out and I noticed is she flat spots for about 1sec and gets going again. Lets say 2nd to red line change 3rd clutch out full nd full throttle again takes a sec and goes its like lag but it can redline. It really annoys me also the bike back fires abit on wind down when you come off full throttle at high revs with out a gear change if ye get me. Blahhh maybe mix screws? Diaphragm/slide related? worth pulling the plugs?

It's wet here too, just drizzle & light rain but it's bloody cold, I reckon about 9 degrees outside, that's real cold for us, should be 18 but there's a cold mass moving north & another following slowly.
Those poor buggers in Tamworth will be covered in snow by now ! They'll have a tale to tell after yesterday's ride ?
Your probably swealtering in 30 deg heat ?

Thats rich, probably need to drop the needles to mid, mix screws are only for 'at idle' see where the needles are set at.
Backfiring is raw fuel exploding in the exhaust pipe, an over supply of fuel. Check the jets too & make sure they're stock or not too big if someones been into them. Your foam filter will be letting in more air than normal so it should be a bit on the lean side if anything, so it's likely something is way too rich.
I used to thrill my son in an old petrol truck by turning off the ignition & then pump the pedal a couple of times on a down hill run & then turn her back on & listen for the backfire, worked a beauty till I blew the side out of the muffler one day & it cost me $150 to fix it.

Could also be a weak spark, not getting all the burn.
Take your plug caps off & nick 10mm of lead off the ends & screw the caps back on to eliminate a crook connection, check your plugs for gap & maybe replace them if they're of unknown age

30 degree heat this guy ha ha its about 12 maybe 13 degress out thats warm here irish summer where only the rain gets warmer!! Id say so far its been about 24ish degrees here at best.

I used have an old carby k10 micra and use to spit flames out the exhaust when you did that and an old suzuki alto that used sound like shot out off a shotgun when ya backfired it I did it in the square behind a jeep once and he stopped and got out checking all his tyres I nearly wet myself behind him as I did it twice to the poor man!

Ive never done that before I wont damage the lead if I go at the cap is this at the plug side or the coil side? Or both?
The plugs are a second brand new set guy who had my bike replaced my old ones with only 100 miles on them because they were fouled a bit and plugs are dear for this bike :-/
