drain your coolant and put in water and automatic dishwasher powder through it and run it for abit. Will loosen up gunk, then just drain it properly (with thermostat out) and refill it. mine was brown caramel milkshake when i bought my bike, flushed it and put in dishwashing powder and water and in 10,000k's the coolant still looked brand new.
No I haven't. But it will be on the todo list. Yeah I was concerned it go so hot so fast. But hopefully the flush will slow it down.
Life saver. Cheers for this. I don't have a automatic dish washer. Is there anything else I could use?
what was meant was some dishwasher powder.probably a tablespoon full. agitator action from water pump.most of these powders are alkaline so have a corrosive action. drain well afterwards.
Ok so here is today's job. Flush the radiator. Maybe twice. Then refill with pre mix nulon. I forgot to buy the thermo fan switch. But I will wire something up so I can see if the thermo fan works. And if so I will install the switch tomorrow. Bonus about working mornings I finish at 11 am so plenty of day light and shops are still open.
Hit a snag tho. Went to wheel out the bike and almost dropped it. I live on a hill and found out the front breaks are for less then a better word useless. So I tried bleeding them and they were still spongey. So now I have zip tied the lever to the handle bar and am waiting to see if I get some pressure in the system. Last thing I want to do is drop the bike while wheeling our of the garage. Ha!
